Live bar Jan. 28 - After Everton sacked Benitez, Duncan Ferguson became the interim manager of the Toffee. According to Manchester United legend Rooney, he recently turned down an opportunity to coach Everton.

Rooney briefly played for Everton after leaving Manchester United. On Friday, local time, he said his former owner contacted his agent to ask If Rooney would like to attend an interview for the Everton managerial role.

Rooney said: "Everton approached my agent and asked me to interview for the job, but I declined. I believe I'm going to be the manager of a Premier League team and I'm 100% ready. But I'm on a date with Derby county right now, and that's important to me. ”

Everton are still looking for their new manager, with Lampard and Vieira both said to be candidates.
