Gome Holdings, also known as Gome Group, has a Hong Kong-listed company Gome Retail, and Gome Electrical Appliances is included in Gome Retail. Gome insiders told reporters that Gome Electric added a new chairman position. Huang Xiuhong is the sister of Huang Guangyu, the founder of Gome Group, and a senior vice president of Gome Holdings; Du Juan, CEO of Gome Holdings, is the wife of Huang Guangyu.
Huang Xiuhong joined Gome in 1991 and has served as financial supervisor, general manager of Beijing Gome, director of procurement center of Gome Headquarters, and general manager of Gome Shanghai Region. In 2009, he became the president of Gome Holding Group and the chairman of Pengrun Holdings Co., Ltd., the real estate business of Gome.
Previously, the CEO position of Gome Electric Appliances was held by Zhang Deju, a veteran minister of Gome, who left office in July 2021, and the authority was taken over by Wang Bo, VP of Gome Electric Appliances. Li Juntao is also an elderly man of Gome, who served as ceo of Gome Online.
On the eve of Huang Guangyu's return, Gome began a series of capital operations in 2020. In April 2020, Pinduoduo made a strategic investment of US$200 million convertible bonds in Gome. In May of that year, Gome issued a US$100 million convertible bond to JD.com, and the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in joint procurement, joint marketing, logistics services and other aspects.

Gome was once the boss of the home appliance offline channel, and Huang Guangyu was once the richest man in the mainland. However, in recent years, the retail market has been constantly changing, and Gome is also facing challenges. Gome Retail's financial report for the first half of 2021 shows that the sales revenue is about 26.040 billion yuan, an increase of 36.51% year-on-year; the attributable loss is 1.974 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 24.74%.
According to the "China Home Appliance Market Report for the First Half of 2021" released by the China Electronics Information Industry Development Research Institute, JD.com ranked first with a share of 32.21%; Suning Tesco ranked second with a share of 18.87%; Tmall followed with 14.79% and Gome's share of 5.12%.
However, Gome is still full of confidence. In December 2021, on the occasion of Gome's 35th anniversary, Huang Guangyu, founder of Gome Group, said that over the past year or so, it has focused on the retail industry and home service industry, and systematically built a six-in-one all-retail ecological sharing platform of "online, offline, supply chain, sharing and co-construction, logistics, big data/cloud".
