French media: Newcastle offers Guimarães for 40 million euros, but Lyon asks for 45 million euros

According to French media GFFN, Newcastle's offer for Guimarães could not satisfy Lyon, and the Ligue 1 club asked for 45 million euros.

The media pointed out that there are still differences between Newcastle and Lyon on the issue of Guimarães' transfer fee, Newcastle offers 40 million euros and hopes to pay in installments of 5 years, while Lyon's asking price is 45 million euros. Newcastle faces two choices, either to pay a one-time transfer fee of more than 40 million euros or to pay 45 million euros in installments, but the proportion of the down payment needs to be increased.

Guimarães, whose contract with Lyon expires in 2024, has played 25 games so far this season, contributing six assists and playing 1,871 minutes.
