As a traditional folk art, New Year paintings are known for their bright colors and vivid contents, and are deeply loved by the citizens of Weifang. Weifang folk New Year painting has a long history, the earliest form is the door god, and gradually formed a unique artistic characteristics.
In Weifang, there are both Yangjiabu woodblock prints, Gaomi Ash New Year paintings, as well as Linqu hand-painted New Year paintings and Qingzhou peasant paintings. Each New Year painting shows a strong regional characteristic.
It is understood that the 100 New Year paintings will be on display until March 4. During the Spring Festival, Weifang citizens can visit the site for free and feel the infinite charm of traditional culture.
