Elon Musk: "If McDonald's accepts Dogecoin, I'll have a good meal on TV"

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revived the push for Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency that began as a joke in December 2013 based on the popular "doge" meme, marked by the Shiba Inu dog.

About two weeks ago, Musk announced in a tweet that Tesla would now allow customers to use Dogecoin to buy select items. After the news broke, the price of Dogecoin soared, and then fell back to the original price. But that didn't stop Musk from continuing to promote Dogecoin.

This morning, Musk continued to promote Dogecoin, saying that if McDonald's accepted Dogecoin as payment, he would have a happy meal on TV. "If McDonald's could accept Dogecoin, I would have a happy meal on TV," Musk wrote on Twitter. McDonald's has yet to accept Musk's challenge.

Musk has been promoting Dogecoin for months. Musk called it the currency of the future, once telling media reporters in an interview that Dogecoin could be the future of cryptocurrencies. But he also warned cryptocurrency investors not to overstepped their bets on cryptocurrency commitments.

"First of all, I don't think people should invest their life savings in cryptocurrencies. To be clear, I think it's unwise. However, if you want to make some speculation and have some fun from it, then cryptocurrencies have a good chance of becoming our future currency. And then, like, which one would it be? Maybe it will be multiple. But at this point it should be considered speculation. So don't go too far in the cryptocurrency speculation part," Musk said in his signature.

Some on social media even call Musk the "godfather," referring to the dogecoin godfather.
