According to the meteorological department, the "compass" is located in the monsoon low pressure belt, the surrounding circulation is large, and there is a high pressure passing through the north, resulting in strong environmental winds near Taiwan and strong development of the peripheral cloud belt, so the wind and rain are particularly large.
According to reports, eastern Taiwan is the main rainfall area, and there are super heavy rains or heavy rains in Yilan, Taichung, Hualien, New Taipei and other places. Hualien was hit by strong storms and rains, and many places suffered serious agricultural damage. In Shoufeng Township, where bananas are planted in the county, almost all banana orchards are blown down by strong winds and soaked in water in large areas.
