News summary| Saints coach Payton will not be coaching next season! The second team of the north of the country has finalized the new general manager!

On Tuesday, US time, two NFL teams confirmed their next general manager.

The Bears will hire Ryan Poles, executive director of chief personnel, and the Vikings will hire Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, vice chairman of Brown's football operations.

The Bears sacked former general manager Ryan Pace and then-coach Matt Nagy 15 days ago. Pouls, 36, will contact team president George McCaskey directly. Thanks to the previous upward trade to select quarterback Justin Fields, the Bears currently have no first-round picks for this year's draft.

Adolfomensa's former general manager was Rick Spielman, who was also sacked at the end of the season along with coach Mike Zimmer. Adophrmensa's first priority is to hire a new manager.

Adolphmensa had seven seasons with the 49ers before joining Brown in 2020. He interviewed for the Panthers' general manager position in 2021 and the Bears this year.

After a total of 15 seasons in charge for the Saints, coach Sean Payton announced his decision to leave next year on Tuesday.

Payton thanked team owner Gayle Benson at a press conference, saying she gave herself time to think. "Because this decision is significant and will affect a lot of people." Payton said he didn't like the word "retirement" and didn't rule out the possibility of a future comeback to coach. But "I don't want to (coach) right now."

"I don't know what's next." Payton added that reports that he had communicated with the television media were untrue, but also acknowledged that he might be interested in the aspect.

Payton, the Saints' most winning coach in history, joined drew Brees in the 2006 season and together they won the Super Bowl in 2009. In the 2021 season, the Saints recorded 9-8, missing the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Payton's NFL coaching career began with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he served as quarterback coach. Payton joined the New York Giants two years later, where he served as quarterback coach and offensive coordinator. Prior to joining the Saints, Payton also served as a manager assistant and passing coordinator at the Cowboys.
