In a series of articles a few days ago, it was mentioned that in the 7.20 assassination of Hitler, there was a Berlin police chief Wolf Herdolph, and a reader friend asked whether this Wolf was the one who negotiated privately with Dulles? Of course not, that man was deputy commander of the SS, Karl. Wolff, this one Wolff is the chief of the Berlin Police Department.

Wolf. Heinrich. Julius. Otto. Bernhard. Herman. Ferdinand. Feng. Earl Of Herdalf (O god of the forehead!) This is to write the names of the eighteenth generation of ancestors), from July 1935 to July 1944 he was the head of the Berlin Police, and was sentenced to hanging after his unsuccessful participation in the assassination of July 20, 1944. There are some historical sources that portray Herdolf as a hero with a sense of justice against Nazi tyranny, but this is not the case, so what kind of figure is this aristocratic director?

Wolf. Feng. Born on 14 October 1896 in Myrtsburg, Germany, to an aristocratic family, Herdorf fought in World War I and was promoted to lieutenant, serving as a member of the Prussian Parliament from 1924.

An aristocrat, a parliamentarian, life should be very moist, right? No! Herdorff's life was a mess because he was a gambler, often losing so badly that he owed a bunch of bad debts, his wife left him, and his mother didn't want to see him. Luckily, he had a guy named Eric. Yang. Harulson's magician friend, who was very honest, often lent Herdolph money to solve financial problems and help him deal with the creditors who came to collect debts.

Why we should highlight Haruson, I will explain why below.

Herdorf joined the Nazi Party in 1924, joined the SA in 1931 and became leader of the Berlin region, was elected to the German Parliament, and in March of the same year became commissioner of the Potsdam police. During this period, he took bribes and spent so much money that he ordered 150 sets of uniforms alone, and the money he received was quickly tossed away by him, and when his former good friend Harusson asked him for money for the 150 sets of uniforms, Herdalf, who could not come up with the money, had a poisonous plan and actually ordered someone to murder Harusson, and afterwards he was not punished by the law, not only Hitler and Goebbels protected him, but also because Harusson was a Jew, and the matter could not be solved.

In July 1935, Herdorf was appointed chief of the Berlin Police, a gambler who held such an important position, naturally gained more opportunities to earn money, and he targeted the Jews. Herdolf used his position to find all kinds of excuses to arrest rich Jews, confiscate their passports, take advantage of extortion, and extort huge amounts of property and promise to allow Jews to leave Germany. It is evidenced that Herdalf was one of the perpetrators behind the smashing of the Jewish "Kristallnacht" in November 1938, in which the entire Berlin police stood idly by, indifferent, and aided in the abuse, and they were ordered not to interfere and arrest the thugs who beat the Jews.

But history is not as simple as black and white, just such a bad Nazi, who could have predicted that he actually participated in the coup d'état to assassinate Hitler? It is said that from 1938 Herdorff had contact with the anti-Hitler camp, after which he became an important figure, and I do not know the reason for his change of position. In the events of 7.20, Herdorf was tasked with preventing the police from interfering in the Operations of the Wehrmacht and, after the incident, leading the Berlin police in allegiance to the new government.

After the failure of the 7.20 incident, Herdorf was arrested, and Hitler was so annoyed that he was involved in his own murder that he was sentenced to death by hanging, and demanded that the firing squad force him to watch the other coup d'état being hanged before hanging him, and on August 15, 1944, Herdolf was hanged in Pletzensee prison.
