In the gray-white right leg bone and left hand bone, there were nine pieces of black-brown iron and iron particles of different sizes embedded in the bones, the largest of which was 1 square centimeter.
With the appearance of these iron pieces, the tears of the families present flowed down, "These iron blocks are fragments of American-made grenades, which are the testimony of Dad's courageous action on New Year's Day in 1952 to assist the police in bravely arresting secret agents", Ling Hua said, "Our family wants to donate these shrapnel pieces to the collection of the Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum." ”

It turned out that on the evening of January 1, 1952, Ling Rucai, who was working at the Brick and Tile Association of the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, reported to the police station that there was hostility at No. 60 Wenming Road, and that a person in military uniform had a suspicious appearance. "My father was 19 years old at the time, and he saw the man probing his brain, which didn't look like the behavior of the general public. My father sneaked upstairs and dialed the phone number of the police station. ”
Soon, Huang Liu, deputy platoon leader of the police squadron of the Yonghan North Police Station (now Beijing Street Police Station), arrived and questioned the suspicious person. "At this time, the man reached out and touched his pocket, and the short Yellow Stream immediately hugged his waist, and his father took the man's hand."
The three of them wrestled together, and a loud noise came from it. "The man pulled the American grenade, his thigh was blown away, he was killed on the spot, Huang Liu's stomach was also blown up, and his intestines flowed out of his body. My father's left hand hurt terribly and he fainted...".
Afterwards, Huang Liu and Ling Rucai were sent to the convenient hospital at that time (now a people's hospital in the city) for rescue. At noon the next day, Huang Liu was martyred and posthumously recognized as a revolutionary martyr. Ling Rucai was also classified as a fourth-degree disability. The detonator of the grenade was identified as a spy who was preparing to sabotage the City's Ichinomiya New Year's Day party.
After Huang Liu's heroic sacrifice, on the day of the funeral, Ye Jianying, then mayor of Guangzhou, personally buried Huang Liu, and Sun Leyi, then deputy director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, led the crowd to carry the coffin to the hearse.
Every year Qingming sends flowers to heroes
After decades of time, Ling Rucai will think of the hero Huang Liu who was born into death every year, and will go to the Galaxy Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery in Guangzhou during the Qingming Dynasty to send a bouquet of flowers to Huang Liu. In September 2011, he also commissioned this newspaper to search for the descendants of the Huangliu martyrs (for details, see the A19 edition of the September 20, 2011 Nihon newspaper "Seeing the Righteous Courage for the Disabled Old Man Without Regret and The Greatest Wish to Find the Descendants of the Martyrs").
At 10:30 on September 25, 2011, the sky of the Galaxy Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery in Guangzhou was raining, and Two gray-haired elderly people, Ling Rucai and Huang Liu's stepson Huang Jiwen, met for the first time to go to the cemetery of martyr Huang Liu and send flowers.
According to Huang Jiwen's dictation, the Martyr Huang Liu was born in Matou Village, Hebo Town, Jiexi County, and in 1947, he defected to the guerrillas without his parents. Huang Liu was 26 years old when he died, and he was not married at the time. After Huang Liu's sacrifice, he was "adopted" by his parents to the unmarried Huang Liu as a "son" according to the customs of his hometown.
After learning of Huang Liu's "stepson" news, Ling Rucai and Huang Jiwen also met from time to time.
In recent years, Ling Rucai has been an octogenarian, his body is often sick, his legs and feet are very immobile, and he cannot go to the sacrifice to sweep the yellow stream. Ling Hua said, "Dad lives in the ward of the First People's Hospital of Guangzhou, and he also asked me to find an iPad, go to the public security heroic martyrs' network, and worship the Huangliu martyrs online." ”
It is recommended to legislate for the sake of seeing righteousness
Ling Rucai did an earth-shattering thing in his life, and "seeing righteousness and courage" became his lifelong persistence. His family recalls that he was often concerned about reports about the deeds of seeing righteousness and courage. Whenever I find a relevant report in the newspaper, I will cut it out by hand and save it.
In 1997, Ling Rucai collected reports such as Guangzhou Daily and submitted a proposal to the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress on legislation for seeing righteousness and courage, which attracted attention.
In 1998, the Regulations of Guangzhou Municipality on Rewarding and Protecting Personnel who Have Seen Righteousness and Courage were promulgated and came into force on January 1, 1999.

In 2004, after Ling Rucai read about the encounter of "SARS orphan" Jie Zai from the newspaper, he sent 300 yuan to Jie Zai through the address provided in the newspaper. Every winter and summer vacation, Ling Rucai invites Jie Zai and his grandparents to drink tea and eat together, and the hotel must be near Jie Zai's home. Ling Rucai is also very concerned about Jie Zai's learning. Every time Jie Zai finished the exam, he had to tell Ling Rucai the results and the teacher's comments.
