Compared with the same period in the Premier League last season, Brighton has improved the most, and the Saints have regressed the most

Sky Sports compared the changes in points and rankings of Premier League teams in the same period last season, with Brighton improving the most, Southampton, which has lost many players this season, and seven clubs including West Ham, Manchester City, Burnley and Everton.

In the current Premier League table, Chelsea lead Liverpool (15 points), Manchester City (15 points), Manchester United (14 points) and Everton (14 points) with 16 points. In the second half, the promotion of Manovic is difficult to win, and only one point is at the bottom. Newcastle and Burnley each score three points and are in the relegation zone of the standings.

Brighton are the most improved team compared to the same period in the Premier League last season – after seven rounds of matches, they have scored nine more points than last season and moved up 10 places in the Premier League table.

Manchester United and Chelsea also scored four more points than in the same period last season, the former nine places higher than the standings in the same period last season. Seven clubs– West Ham, Manchester City, Burnley and Everton have all improved their scores.

Conversely, Southampton saw the biggest decline. The Saints started well last year but have scored nine fewer points this season and dropped 11 places in the standings as they lose key players Danny Ins, Westgaard and Bertrand in the summer.

Newcastle scored eight points less, while Leicester City's sluggish start allowed them to take seven points less and drop 10 spots in the standings. Aston Villa, Wolves and Leeds United have also fallen sharply in the rankings, while Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool have also fallen slightly.
