On January 24, Beijing time, the NBA officially announced the best player of the East-West Week of the 14th week. Hawks' Trae Young was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week, his second of the season and his fifth career accolade. Nuggets' Jokic was named Western Conference Player of the Week, his first of the season and his 10th career winner.
Eastern Conference Weekly Best Trae Young
Last week, Trae Young led the Hawks to a 4-0 record, and Trae Young averaged 31.3 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists per game, shooting 47.6% from three-point range. The Hawks officially congratulated Young on being named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week again.
Against the Bucks, Trae Young had 30 points, 4 rebounds and 11 assists; against the Timberwolves, Trae Young had 37 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists; against the Heat, Trae Young had 28 points and 7 assists; against the Hornets, Trae Young scored 30 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
So far this season, the Hawks have won 21 and lost 25, ranking 12th in the East. Trae Young averaged 28 points, 4 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game, shooting 45.5% from the field and 38 from three-point range, both of which hit career highs.
Western Week Best Jokic
Last week, Jokic led the Nuggets to a 2-1 record, and in those three games, Jokic averaged 36.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 10 assists in a triple-double, shooting 65 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range and 86.2 percent from the free throw line. The Nuggets officially congratulated Jokic on his selection as the Western Conference Player of the Week.
Against the Clippers, Jokic exploded with 49 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, a new high for himself this season; against the Grizzlies, Jokic had 26 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists; against the Pistons, Jokic had 34 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.
So far this season, the Nuggets have won 24 and lost 21, temporarily ranking 6th in the West. Jokic averaged 26.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game, shooting 57.3 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three-point range, a career-high average in rebounds per game.
