Many readers may be unfamiliar with the Geometric Future brand, a company founded in 2020 that took only half a year or so from the establishment of the company to product development and listing. As with its brand name, its future designs will return to using more geometric elements, replacing "addition" with "subtraction" and simplifying products. At present, Geometry Future has a variety of chassis and radiators began to be listed, and power supply products will be launched in the future.

Minimalist process design

Geometry Future Little Eskimo has two products, 24 (240mm size) and 36 (360mm specification), and we experienced the Little Eskimo 36. This radiator adopts the design concept of simplifying complexity and applying a minimalist process. Its cold head does not have too many fancy designs, with a high-gloss mirror top cover and a slightly raised curved surface. Surrounded by an anode aluminum alloy drill-cut shell, it looks very textured.

The cold head of the little Eskimo 36 also supports RGB lighting effects, it uses a linear RGB lighting effect, there is an RGB lamp on the side of the surface, and its top cover "GEO" Logo also supports RGB lighting effects, in addition to being able to link with the mainstream Asus, MSI and other motherboard lighting effect systems, it can also synchronize with Razer's Razer Chroma lighting effects, and the compatible lighting effects are more comprehensive. Paired with the cold row are three Squama Dragon Scale 2503 fans, which are high-performance silent fans designed for geometric future design, which, like the design of the cold head, has a circle of RGB lighting at the edge of the fan, and it is double-sided with light. This fan applies the aerodynamic dragon scale principle, because the boundary layer of the fan is prone to air flow separation, will produce greater resistance, and after the addition of dragon scale dents on the outer frame, it will promote the turbulence of the fan boundary to turn, so that the turbulence boundary part is not easy to flow separation phenomenon, so that the air flowing in the outer frame reduces the resistance. When the resistance is reduced, the flow rate of the air will increase, and the frictional resistance of turbulence will be greater than that of laminar flow, which will make the intake air stable get a better state. If the fan is in a high-speed state, the noise reduction effect of the fan blade and frame body is better.

In addition, the inner wall of the fan adopts a soft glue design, which can improve the efficiency of the fan, such as reducing wind noise, and the noise generated by the fan will be absorbed by the soft glue during operation. At the same time, the fan has also been dynamically balanced to better perform the performance of the fan and improve service life. From the parameter point of view, the speed of the Dragon Scale 2503 fan is about 2000rpm, the fan air volume is 69.11cfm, the fan wind pressure reaches 2.92mmAq, and the fan noise is only 29dB (A). In addition, the backplane mounted on the motherboard needs to be fixed with 4 bolts. Overall, the Little Eskimo 36 is a bit quicker to install. It is worth mentioning that the silicone grease it is equipped with is Shin-etsu 7868, which is favored by many DIY users, and the thermal conductivity reaches 6.2W/m.k, which is more suitable for the thermal conductivity of high-performance processors.

The full load package temperature is only 75°C

On the Core i9-12900K platform, we tested the heat dissipation capability of the Little Eskimo 36. After the AIDA64 System Stability Test tested the processor for more than 30 minutes at full load, the final processor package temperature was around 75 ° C, which was a very eye-catching performance. Also, I noticed that the software detected that the processor fan was spinning at more than 5000 rpm, but I could barely hear the noise of the cold head. At the same time, the fan noise from the cold drain is also very small, only slightly higher than the ambient noise of 47 decibels, only about 48 decibels, and the noise installed in the chassis can be completely ignored. It can be seen that the little Eskimo 36 has a good performance in terms of heat dissipation performance and noise control.

It's water-cooled and air-cooled

MC has previously experienced the RYUJIN Dragon God II.360 integrated water-cooled radiator from ROG, the price of this radiator is as high as more than two thousand yuan, it has a feature of adding a fan to the cold head, which can assist in heat dissipation, and improve the heat dissipation performance by fusing air cooling and water cooling. Although the Xingu Kunlun KL-360 ARGB also adopts this similar design, there are some differences: it adds a 70mm ×70mm cooling fan inside the cold head, which supports PWM speed regulation, and the fan speed of the cold head can reach up to 3000rpm. At the same time, its fasteners are also the same as the little Eskimo 36, and the two can be used universally. However, the Kunlun KL-360 ARGB cold head is different from the way the back plate is fixed, because the four corners of its cold head have a mounting limit assist design, it will be easier to fix the screws, and it requires a special slender nut, while the small Eskimo 36 is a flatter nut. At the same time, although its cold head is slightly larger than the ordinary cylindrical shape, the cold head can be well compatible with the motherboard and will not affect the heat dissipation module and memory slot of the motherboard.

In addition, Kunlun KL-360 ARGB is also equipped with a proprietary magnetic screwdriver, which is specially designed for the screws of the radiator, with higher bite accuracy with the nut, and is designed with a rotating cap, which can be operated with one hand.

Also on the Core i9-12900K platform and with the same setup, we tested the Xingu Kunlun KL-360 ARGB. With the help of the AIDA64 System Stability Test, the processor was single-baked with Stres FPU, and after more than half an hour of full load testing, we saw that its package temperature was only 68 °C, which was 7 °C lower than the 75 °C of the Geometric Future Eskimo 36, and the heat dissipation performance was very good. In addition, I noticed through the software that the fan speed of the cold head is less than 2000rpm, which also shows that the Kunlun KL-360 ARGB is indeed much stronger than the single water cooling heat dissipation performance with the combination of water cooling and air cooling.

The overall noise value is the same as that of the Geometric Future Little Eskimo 36, only about 48 decibels.

Installation is simple but poorly compatible

Although the ROG RYUJIN Ryujin II.360 was slightly earlier than several other products, it also supports 12th generation Core processors through updated fasteners. Intel, the mainstream LGA 115x/1200/1700/1366/2011/2011-V3/2066 can be supported, AMD, in addition to the mainstream AM4 platform, also supports the top platform TR4. The LGA1700 fastener it comes with still uses the previous simple installation, and the buckle in the cold head part is the same as before, no need to replace, and only need to be screwed up by hand. What needs to be replaced is the back panel, and the overall installation method is basically the same as that of the geometric future small Eskimo 36.

In addition, it is worth noting that the geometric future of our experience of the small Eskimo 36 and Xingu Kunlun KL-360 does not have compatibility problems when installing, because most of the integrated water-cooled cold heads are not large, only like the tower air-cooled radiator due to its large size, so it may lead to conflicts with the heat dissipation module and memory on the motherboard. However, ROG RYUJIN Dragon God II.360 is large in size due to the integration of water pumps and fans in the cold head, and it is easy to conflict with the heat dissipation module and memory around the processor on the motherboard when installed.

For example, we are equipped with ROG's own motherboard: Z690-A D4 snow blowing, when installing ROG RYUJIN Dragon God II.360, it needs to adjust the direction, even if it is barely installed, it will occupy a memory slot on the motherboard, and there is almost no excess gap between the heat dissipation module. In my opinion, its compatibility still has a lot of room for improvement, after all, for a top radiator of 2499 yuan, it is a bit inappropriate to have such a compatibility problem, not to mention its own motherboard.

Performance is not satisfactory

As we mentioned earlier, ROG RYUJIN Dragon God II.360 is also a fusion of air cooling and water cooling products, which is different from Xingu Kunlun KL-360 ARGB in that Dragon God II.360 is to stuff the fan and pump into the cold head, while Xingu is to separate the pump from the cold head and set on the water pipe. We're curious about the similar design of the two products, but how big is the difference in performance?

Although MC had previously evaluated ROG RYUJIN Ryujin II.360, it was tested with the Core i9-11900K at the time, which was not very informative for this test platform, so we retested it. On the platform of the Core i9-12900K processor, the processor is single-baked via the AIDA64 System Stability Test's Stress FPU. After 30 minutes of full load testing, the package temperature of the processor stabilized at about 75 ° C, the same temperature as the geometric future small Eskimo 36, which is 7 ° C higher than the Xingu Kunlun KL-360 ARGB. However, the noise performance is good, only about 48 decibels.

ROG RYUJIN RYUJIN II.360 has rich personalized features, and the display can be customized with content, which is commendable. However, its performance did not meet our expectations. The Core i9-12900K processor is less than the thousand-yuan Xingu Kunlun KL-360 ARGB at full load of 75 °C, and is only on par with the 699 yuan geometric future Eskimo 36. At the same time, the slightly large cold head leads to poor installation compatibility, and it will occupy an additional memory slot on most motherboards, which also makes it a lot less.

There is also a gap in specification performance

At present, the mainstream integrated water-cooled radiators on the market are 120mm, 240mm, 280mm, 360mm, 420mm and other specifications, which mainly refer to the length of the cold row. In addition, the fan is mainly divided into 120mm and 140mm two kinds, we say that the daily 120mm cold drain means that the cold row can install a 120mm fan, 240mm can install two 120mm fans, 280mm can install two 140mm fans, and so on.

In general, 360mm products are stronger than 240mm. Of course, this is not absolute, there are some high-end 240mm specifications of the product through the improvement of the design, improve the material conditions will also have stronger performance than the low-end 360mm specifications of the product. At the same time, the same specification of integrated water cooling, due to the difference in materials and design, there will be performance gaps, which has been verified in this test.

Generally speaking, Core i5 or Ryzen™ 5 series processors are recommended to use the ordinary 240mm specification of the integrated water cooling without overclocking requirements. Core i7 or Ryzen™ 7 series processors, due to the relatively high power consumption and heat generation, it is recommended to match the mid-range 360mm specifications of the integrated water cooling, and for the top Core i9 or Ryzen™ 9 series, then it is recommended to use the high-end 360mm specifications or even 420mm specifications of the integrated water cooling.

"Water cooling, from entry to claims"?
