On January 24, the State Administration for Market Regulation announced the new phase of the recall on its official website. Nandu reporter noted that Jiangsu Kowloon Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. decided to recall all 2017 EF5 pure electric passenger cars produced between June 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017, a total of 153 units, from now on.
According to the official website, the left and right output flanges of the main reducer of the vehicle within the scope of this recall are unreasonable due to the unreasonable angle of the knife retract, resulting in stress concentration. Under extreme conditions, the left and right output flanges of the main reducer may break, resulting in power interruption during vehicle driving, and there is a safety hazard.
The State Administration for Market Regulation said that the recall was carried out in the context of its launch of a defect investigation. Affected by the investigation, Jiangsu Kowloon Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. decided to take recall measures to replace the improved main reducer flange for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
