A- Smith: Paul deserves an All-Star starting spot and he's a model for point guards

Recently, the NBA officially announced the results of the 2022 All-Star Third Round fan voting, and the Suns veteran point guard Chris Paul received the vote to rank seventh among the Western Conference backcourt players.

NBA star Stephen A-Smith spoke about his views on the outcome on the show. He said Paul deserves an All-Star starter spot, giving reasons: "I love what Morant is doing, but the Suns are as old-school as they look, playing against the league's current competitive environment. When you understand what Paul is doing on and off the pitch to unleash the potential of his team, you know he's the model point guard. ”

Paul averaged 32.4 minutes per game this season, averaging 14.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 10.1 assists and 2 steals, shooting 48.4% from the field and 31.6% from three-point range, leading the Suns to the top spot in the league with a record of 36 wins and 9 losses.

This season's All-Star start will be announced on Jan. 28, and the All-Star Weekend will take place in Cleveland from Feb. 19-Feb. 21.
