The Hollywood Reporter published an in-depth report in early December revealing that Johnny Depp, once a box office star, had been deemed "radioactive" by the industry, and Disney interfered in the production of the reboot of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie, refusing to let him make a cameo as "Captain Jack".

Hollywood ace producer Jerry Bruckheimer, one of Depp's biggest fans, helped him cover up the fact that his little finger was cut off by his ex-wife Amber Heard, saying he was caught in the car door. Just as the Pirates of the Caribbean film was about to reboot and be led by a female character led by Margot Robbie, Bruckheimer wanted at least a cameo in the role of "Captain Jack," but Disney refused.

The report also pointed out that Disney did not let him be involved in a future "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie long before Depp lost the defamation lawsuit against the Sun newspaper calling him a "wife beater", but the two sides never officially tore their faces.

Screen Rant pointed out that this represents disney's main family fun route, which is worried that Depp's cameo will lead to reputation damage, trying to make the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series go in a new direction through the reboot, and also means that "Captain Jack" will completely say goodbye to the big screen.
