It was once the first of the four major gardens in Changzhou, and it was only a hundred years old, but it was almost forgotten

Some netizens joked that everything has a shelf life, even if it is a human being, the shelf life is only a few decades or more than a hundred years. The shelf life of ancient buildings is much longer than that of humans, and thousand-year-old ancient towns or temples and pagodas abound. But not every building is so lucky that it survives in human memory. There is a garden in Changzhou, which once ranked first among the four major gardens in Changzhou. The establishment of the park is only a hundred years ago, but it is almost forgotten. It is near the garden.

This garden was originally the first farewell business of the Ming Dynasty envoy Yun Yue, called "East Garden". In the eleventh year of the Qing Kangxi Dynasty, the canon was given to the Liren Yang Zhaolu (Shunzhi Ninth Year Jinshi, who had been an official to The Deputy Envoy of Yanping Province, Fujian), who operated for 5 years, originally did not want to build a garden, but with the construction of more and more like a garden. Because it is "almost like a garden, it is called near the garden". Yang Zhaolu invited the famous painters Yun Nantian, Wang Shigu, and Zheng Zhongguang to gather in the garden, Yang Zhaolu wrote "Near Garden", and Wang Shigu drew "Near Garden Map". During the Tongzhi period, the garden changed owners again, and returned to the Yun clan during the Guangxu period, and changed its name to "Fu Garden" and "Jing Garden", commonly known as the Yun Family Garden.

The garden area is not very large, 80 meters long from north to south, and 64 meters wide from east to west. But it condenses the essence of the Ming and Qing gardens, and the concept is ingenious, delicate and elegant. From the art of gardening, we can glimpse the artistic conception of the owner after his retreat in this garden. The center of the garden is the highest part of the whole park, surrounded by water, stacked with rockeries, and a pavilion, which is "see a pavilion"; there is "Tianxiang Pavilion" on the left, and there is a "Happy Nest" on the right; there is "Deyuexuan" in the linchi, and there is "Autumn Water Pavilion" in the west of the garden. The arrangement is exquisite and generous, which is enough to see the aesthetic height of the owner of the garden.

In the garden, there are attractions such as "Nishi no Caotang", "See a Pavilion", "Deyuexuan", "Qiushuang Pavilion", "Anle Nest", "Deyuexuan", "Weeping Lun Cave" and so on. On the east side of the corridor wall are embedded several pieces of Ming and Qing dynasty celebrity book strips. The garden has rockeries, pond water, flowers and trees, small pavilions, stone bridges and other buildings, with exquisite layout, quite the characteristics of jiangnan classical gardens. The gate of the garden is very distinctive, not boxy, but designed in a circular arch. Most are predominantly gray or black, with silver or yellow door handles accented on top and vivid colors.
