On September 9, 1976, our great leader, Chairman Mao, passed away. Chairman Mao's last personal bodyguard, Zhou Fuming, took the haircut tool and cut Chairman Mao's hair for the last time with a sad face.
From the first haircut to Chairman Mao in 1959 to the last haircut to the chairman in 1976, Zhou Fuming has been working at the chairman's side for 17 years. During his 17 years of working at Chairman Mao's side, many beautiful memories were produced, which left a deep impression on Zhou Fuming and made him unforgettable.

Therefore, even though Chairman Mao has passed away, Zhou Fuming's feelings for the chairman have never changed, and he deeply remembers the appearance of the chairman, the habits of the chairman, and the preferences of the chairman... 39 years after Chairman Mao's death, Zhou Fuming also confided for the first time a past event, which made people deeply feel the cordiality of the chairman and his old man.
So, what is this past?
Zhou Fuming has a golden statue of Chairman Mao that has been preserved since 1966, and usually, Zhou Fuming does not wear it, nor does he ever show it to his family, but keeps it well. Only when going to the memorial hall, Zhou Fuming would carefully put on the medallion.
For Zhou Fuming, this chairman Mao medallion has an extraordinary significance, and it can make him better remember Chairman Mao. Zhou Fuming often thinks of the days when he changed his life decades ago.
Zhou Fuming
On December 26, 1959, Zhou Fuming, a well-known barber in Hangzhou, suddenly received a task: to cut the hair of a very important person. Since it was a task given by the organization, Zhou Fuming naturally did not think much about it, and immediately took his own tools and went to the destination.
Soon, Zhou Fuming was sent to the Wang Zhuang Guest House, where he met Chairman Mao's guard chief Li Yinqiao. Of course, Zhou Fuming did not know Li Yinqiao. Li Yinqiao did not greet too much, but just asked Zhou Fuming to go to the swimming pool of Nanping Evening Clock with himself.
When he got into the car, Li Yinqiao said to Zhou Fuming: "I am Chairman Mao's chief guard, and the main reason I invited you to come this time is to ask you to give the chairman a haircut." In fact, Li Yinqiao's voice was not loud, but Zhou Fuming felt like thunder when he listened, and he had a feeling of soul stirring from the bottom of his heart.
Zhou Fuming could hardly hide his inner excitement, his face was flushed, and that kind of excited but unbelievable sense of responsibility was about to burst his heart! After a while, Zhou Fuming came to the Nanping Swimming Pool. After Zhou Fuming came to the pool, Chairman Mao had not yet come out.
Li Yinqiao told Zhou Fuming to wait a little while before heading to Chairman Mao's lounge. Before Li Yinqiao left, he also said to Zhou Fuming: "Don't be too nervous, how do you usually do it, how do it now." Zhou Fuming nodded, thinking about Li Yinqiao's words, and cheered himself up in his heart.
After a while, Chairman Mao came out of the lounge. Cordiality, vigor, and a healthy pace were Zhou Fuming's first impression of Chairman Mao. Chairman Mao walked toward Zhou Fuming with a smile on his face, and when he was about a meter or two away from him, he stretched out his hand.
Seeing the situation, Zhou Fuming hurriedly put down the toolbox, and while walking forward to shake hands with Chairman Mao, he nervously said that Chairman Mao was good. The chairman knew that Zhou Fuming's heart was trembling, so he did not ask him to start cutting his hair immediately, but sat down to chat with Zhou Fuming.
Chairman Mao smiled and asked Zhou Fuming what his name was, and Zhou Fuming replied: "My name is Zhou Fuming, Premier Zhou's Zhou, the blessing of happiness, the bright Ming." Chairman Mao immediately smiled and said that the name Zhou Fuming is a good name, which means bright and promising.
Listening to the chairman's words, Zhou Fuming smiled shyly, and then Chairman Mao nagged him again, asking about the situation in Zhou Fuming's family, such as whether he was married, how many people in the family, and so on, and Zhou Fuming answered them one by one. In fact, what Zhou Fuming did not know was that Chairman Mao had long known about his situation, and his current approach was only to let Zhou Fuming relax.
I have to say that Chairman Mao's mind is delicate. In this way, in the process of chatting, Zhou Fuming gradually relaxed. After Zhou Fuming was not nervous, he began to cut Chairman Mao's hair. Although Zhou Fuming was very nervous when he saw the chairman, when he began to work, he was undistracted and immersed in haircuts.
Therefore, Zhou Fuming was very relaxed when he gave Chairman Mao a haircut. Chairman Mao was also very satisfied when he saw Zhou Fuming's performance. After the haircut, Zhou Fuming shaved the chairman's beard. While shaving his beard, Chairman Mao kept holding his breath and puffing his mouth.
Originally, the chairman's original intention was to cooperate with Zhou Fuming to shave, but the chairman held his breath, but it made Zhou Fuming difficult to start, because the chairman had a mole on his chin, and when it was very difficult, it was easy to have problems with hard work. So Zhou Fuming hurriedly asked the chairman not to hold his breath, and said that where he scraped, his hand would reach that position.
After listening to Zhou Fuming's words, Chairman Mao no longer held his breath. Soon, Zhou Fuming shaved Chairman Mao's beard, from haircut to shaving, in less than 20 minutes, Chairman Mao was very satisfied. The chairman said happily to Zhou Fuming, "Thank you, Master Zhou. ”
When Zhou Fuming heard this, he was flattered and immediately said that he did not want to thank him, but the chairman solemnly said: "Since you have served me, you should get me a thank you." Zhou Fuming was very touched that the chairman was so kind to people!
Chairman Mao went to Guangzhou after staying in Hangzhou for 4 days, and Zhou Fuming thought that he would never see Chairman Mao from now on, but what he did not expect was that three months later, Chairman Mao came to Hangzhou again, and found Zhou Fuming, smiled and said to him: "Xiao Zhou, take you to Beijing, do you agree or disagree?" ”
Zhou Fuming was stunned by this huge surprise, and it took a while before he excitedly said: Agree, very agree. Seeing Zhou Fuming's excited look, Chairman Mao's smile grew louder and louder, and while laughing, he asked Zhou Fuming not to worry and asked him to ask his leader and his wife whether they agreed.
Zhou Fuming was so excited that he did not expect this layer, listened to the chairman's words, and knew that he was in a hurry. Zhou Fuming smiled and asked the leader and his wife for their opinions, as Chairman Mao had said. With their consent, Zhou Fuming followed Chairman Mao to Beijing.
Zhou Fuming will always remember this day, it was the middle of April 1960.
After coming to Zhongnanhai in Beijing, Zhou Fuming's work was also relatively leisurely, giving the chairman a haircut twice a week. Chairman Mao's hair is hard, and it is easy to "rush to the crown with anger." In order to make the chairman's hair smoother, Zhou Fuming thought of a way to apply it with a hot towel and repeatedly castor with castor, so that Chairman Mao's hair became the same as it appeared in the photo.
Chairman Mao was very fond of Zhou Fuming's serious attitude, so he also wanted to temper him more. One day in 1961, Chairman Mao approached Zhou Fuming and asked him if he would like to follow the chief guards on duty, do some management work, and exercise himself.
Zhou Fuming has always agreed to Chairman Mao's demands, and this time it is the same, so Zhou Fuming has become a defender by the chairman's side. Zhou Fuming, who became a guard, had more opportunities to get close to the chairman, originally he only gave the chairman two haircuts a week, and after becoming a guard, in addition to haircuts, he also had to do two things: one was to help the chairman wipe the bath, and the other was to accompany the chairman to dinner.
It is precisely because of this that Zhou Fuming knows more about the habits of the chairman, such as the chairman must have spicy seeds at every meal, such as the chairman's meal time is not regular, often working until he forgets to eat. In order to make the chairman comfortable to eat, Zhou Fuming also specially designed a table for the chairman.
With this table, the chairman's abdomen will not be stuck at the edge of the table, and he will be able to eat comfortably. Sure enough, Chairman Mao was able to eat comfortably from then on.
In Zhou Fuming's impression, Chairman Mao rarely bothered others. After a work, it was already late at night, and Zhou Fuming thought that Chairman Mao had not yet eaten dinner, so he came to the kitchen and brought out the prepared meal. Zhou Fuming knew that the chairman liked to eat some food with bones in the evening, so he deliberately asked the chef to make a stewed chicken.
When Chairman Mao was eating stewed chicken, he accidentally got a small piece of bone into his palate, but the chairman did not want to trouble Zhou Fuming, so he never said anything, but just stabbed it with chopsticks himself, trying to get it down. The chairman's actions attracted Zhou Fuming's attention, and he hurried forward to let the chairman open his mouth to show him.
Zhou Fuming looked carefully, and after finding the small piece of bone stuck in his upper jaw, he carefully used his hands to get it down. At this point, the chairman was already very sleepy, so Zhou Fuming did not say. The next day, he told Wang Dongxing about the incident, and Wang Dongxing listened, asked him not to be silent, and asked him to persuade the chairman not to eat anything with bones in the future.
Therefore, Zhou Fuming went to the chairman and made a suggestion to the chairman, saying that he wanted to discuss something with him, considering that the chairman was older, whether he could eat something with bones in the future, let the chef shave the bones. The Chairman did not agree at first because he thought that when the bones were shaved clean, there would be no taste.
So Zhou Fuming said that he ate stewed chicken yesterday and accidentally stuck the bone into his upper jaw, and also took out the small bone to show the chairman. Chairman Mao is not a stubborn person, as long as the reasons are clear and reasonable, he will agree to the suggestions made by others, so in the end, the chairman agreed to Zhou Fuming's suggestions.
And this matter, Zhou Fuming has not told others, until 39 years after Chairman Mao's death, Zhou Fuming first said this matter. In the process of talking about this matter, Zhou Fuming couldn't help but wet his eyes, Chairman Mao was so kind and kind, but he would never see him again.
In addition to not bothering others, the chairman rarely lost his temper, and the only time Chairman Mao got angry in Zhou Fuming's memory was because of the tower of Tiananmen Square. At that time, the weather was very hot, Chairman Mao was sweating heavily under the sun, and Zhou Fuming saw it and went forward to wipe the sweat for the chairman.
Who knows, before Zhou Fuming could come to him, Chairman Mao became angry and pulled him away with his hands. Afterwards, the chairman solemnly said to Zhou Fuming: "No one sweats and no one wipes it, so I should be special." Zhou Fuming listened and bowed his head in shame.
From the end of 1961, Chairman Mao's guards left him one after another. At that time, the whole country advocated "streamlining the army and streamlining the administration," and Chairman Mao, as the chairman of the one-party party, naturally set an example first. By 1963, chairman Mao's guards were left with only Zhou Fuming, and it can be said that Zhou Fuming was Mao Zedong's last defender.
Since then, Zhou Fuming's workload has greatly increased, but he feels very happy. Under Zhou Fuming's serious attitude, everything was in order, and Chairman Mao praised this, and the two spent year after year together.
Chairman's legacy
On September 9, 1976, Chairman Mao died of illness, Zhou Fuming cut the chairman's hair for the last time, and supported him with coffins to guard the spirit, looking at Chairman Mao's expression like he was asleep, he lost his voice and cried bitterly...
