After graduating from Anhui University with a master's degree in art, Ding Jian still insisted on the creation, inheritance and public welfare promotion of intangible cultural heritage paper-cutting. Ding Jian studied Chinese painting and has a strong interest in paper-cutting since he was a child, and in his sophomore year, he was introduced to a non-hereditary heir of paper-cutting in Huainan. Ding Jian volunteered to give his paper-cut work "Shenzhou Flying Sky" to the teacher, hoping to get a rare opportunity to learn art from the teacher, but repeatedly hit a wall. After that, he persevered with a sincere letter of study, and finally impressed the inheritor, who was able to worship under the master and constantly improve his paper-cutting skills.

"For me, words are not enough to intuitively express my love for Hefei." In 2019, Ding Jian created a painting "Celebrating Seventy Years, Hefei Good Picture" made a stunning appearance. This paper-cut work took a year, with a total length of 15 meters and a width of 0.75 meters, and the entire long volume is divided into four sections: Swan Lake, Wuhu Road, Shushan Mountain, and Binhu Lake, not only chaohu lake, Swan Lake, Dashu Mountain and other great rivers and mountains, but also cultural landmarks such as the Memorial Hall of the Battle of Dujiang, Gu xiaoyaojin, Hefei South Railway Station, and the University of Science and Technology of China. "I hope that I can use the art of paper-cutting to express my deep feelings about the changes in Hefei." On weekdays, Ding Jian often comes to the campus of Anhui University to teach traditional arts such as paper-cutting, Chinese painting, calligraphy and other traditional arts to Russian and Ukrainian students, so that foreign students can not only receive Chinese-style higher education in Hefei, but also be influenced by the traditional culture of the Chinese nation.
