Chile's president-elect, Boric from the left, officially announced the list of his cabinet members on January 21, local time. The media pointed out that its cabinet members are younger and more diverse, and more than half are women.

Agence France-Presse reported on Jan. 21 that Boric nominated a cabinet of 24 members, one-third of whom were independents. Of the 24, 14 were women, or more than half. Boric said on the same day that his cabinet ministers have "diverse backgrounds and (disciplinary) training."

The average age of its cabinet nominees is reported to be 49, with 7 of them between the ages of 30 and 40. Boric, himself 35, will become the youngest president in Chilean history when he takes office in March.

Izkia Siches, 35, will serve as interior minister. A surgeon, she became the first female president of a doctors' association in the country in 2017 and led Borici's campaign last year. Sitges will become Chile's first female minister of the interior.

Nominated as finance minister is Mario Marcel, 62, who served as chile's central bank governor during the administration of former President Bachelet and incumbent President Pinera.

Maya Fernández, who was nominated as defense minister, is the granddaughter of former Chilean President Allende and has served as speaker of the lower house of Chile's parliament.

Antonia Urrejola, 53, will serve as foreign minister, having served in the Organization of American States.

Boric said on the 21st that its governance priorities include responding to the new crown epidemic, promoting socially inclusive economic development, and ensuring the successful revision of the constitution.

In the second round of voting for Chile's presidential elections held in December last year, Boric, who was the candidate of the left-wing coalition "in favor of dignity", defeated Castro, a candidate of the right-wing party alliance Christian Social Front, to be elected the new president.
