Recently, a 60-year-old Malay Chinese man was suddenly involved in a car accident in Queens and was seriously injured and unconscious. However, when the news spread through the Internet, it was misinformed as death news, and some people took advantage of the opportunity to amass wealth fraud, causing the relatives of the injured person far away in Malaysia to mistakenly believe that he had passed away. At present, the Malaysian Association has found the injured who are in the intensive care unit of the hospital, hoping to clarify the facts to the public and condemn the immoral behavior of borrowing people to accumulate wealth.

It is reported that the Malaysian Chinese man is 67-year-old Qiu Zhiliang. He came to New York in 1990 and has been unaccompanied in the United States for decades, but still has a wife and a pair of children in his malaysian hometown. Before the incident, he worked as a back cook at a Japanese restaurant in Connecticut and lived in Flushing, New York.

At about 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 15, he was in a vicious car accident on Kissena Blvd in Queens. At that time, a Chinese-driven car was driving west along Beech Avenue, and when it turned left into Kesina Avenue, it hit Mr. Qiu who was crossing the street. The victim fell to the ground after being hit by a car, suffered a severe blow to the head, resulting in a skull fracture, and was urgently sent to the hospital for rescue. Fortunately, he saved his life for the time being, but he is still not out of danger.

After the incident, the police went to the restaurant where Mr. Qiu worked in order to contact his family. When the restaurant workers learned of his encounter, they spread the news through social media to help Mr. Qiu find relatives. But in the process, the news seems to have been misrepresented, and then there were Malaysian media reports that he died in a car accident in New York, and his family did not know the truth and were deeply sad. What's more, some people with ulterior motives also used Mr. Qiu's name to "raise money" online to accumulate wealth, and carried out fraud under the guise of others' misfortune. Fortunately, thanks to the efforts of the Consulate General in Malaysia in New York and the Malaysian Travel America Fraternity, the injured person himself has been found and is holding out in the intensive care unit of the Weill Cornell School of Medicine in Manhattan. Zhu Huiling, president of the Association of Fellowships in the United States, sternly condemned the people who created the rumors of death as "lacking in morality" and "unscrupulous means" in accumulating wealth fraud, which also caused greater harm to the families of the victims and seriously affected their lives, so she hoped to clarify the facts to the outside world. The Fraternity went to visit Mr. Qiu at the above hospital on the 19th. Zhu Huiling introduced that the doctor said that he had woken up the day before, but his head was bloodied, his body was weak, and he still needed oxygen, and he had not yet passed the dangerous period. Even if he can finally recover, I am afraid that he will have to stay in the hospital for a long time. It is understood that the daughter of the injured person in Malaysia has contacted the Fraternity. The association is also helping the daughter apply for a visa, hoping that the consulate will be able to accommodate as appropriate and allow the daughter to obtain a visa to visit her father in the United States as soon as possible.
