Urzymtsev said in an interview with the Russian Satellite News Agency on September 22: "We have developed independent components of the system. This is a stand-alone system consisting of a killing system with artificial intelligence elements that can now almost completely ensure that the process of identifying, aiming and tracking targets is automated, as well as the execution of firing. ”

Urzymtsev further said that the shooter only needs to press the trigger to allow the target to complete the shooting. The company will advise the Russian Ministry of Defense to elevate the product to the level of a mass-produced model.

Referring to the AK-12 assault rifle, Urzhumtsev said that the gun was no less intensive than foreign modern light weapons.

The intensity of fire is a key performance in reflecting the quality of light weapons. The AK-12 assault rifle was delivered to the Russian military in 2018 and was subsequently modified. During the International Military Technology Forum "Army-2021", the Russian military signed a new contract for the purchase of AK-12 assault rifles. Kalashnikov said tens of thousands of AK-12s will be delivered in the coming years, and the gun will become the main firearms equipment of the Russian army.

In addition, Urzümtsev also revealed that the company has begun testing its new RPL-20 light machine gun prototype.

According to reports, the Kalashnikov Group Company earlier developed the RPK-16 light machine gun using a drum. Based on the results of the trial of the troops, the Russian Ministry of Defense clarified the requirements for the new light machine gun, and the company creatively developed a new light machine gun that uses a bullet belt to feed. The RPL-20 light machine gun under development still uses a 5.45X39 mm bullet, and other features have not been officially reported.
