The Sixth Session of the 15th Shanghai Municipal People's Congress opened at the World Expo Center on the morning of January 20. Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng made a "Government Work Report".

Gong Zheng said that last year, the construction of shanghai's five new cities was in full swing. Formulated the overall policy framework for the planning and construction of the "1+6+5" new city, and 50 corporate headquarters and 62 R&D centers signed contracts to settle in the new city. 91 major projects for people's livelihood and 25 major transportation projects have started construction, with a total investment of more than 100 billion yuan. Key transportation projects such as the rapidization of Lianggang Avenue and the west extension of Songze Elevated Highway have been completed.

At the same time, the construction of the North Bund continued to advance, and the World Living Room project was completed last year. Taopu, Nanda, Wusong, Jinshan Binhai and other regional transformation and development projects have been accelerated, and the amount of inefficient construction land has been reduced by 15.1 square kilometers.
