The "Red Women's Scouts Memorial Garden" is a cultural tourism area built to commemorate the "Special Agent Company of the Women's Army of the Second Independent Division of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army" born during the Second Civil Revolutionary War, located in Jiaji Town, Qionghai City.
On May 1, 1931, the Special Agent Company of the Women's Army of the 3rd Regiment of the 2nd Independent Division of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army (i.e., the Red Women's Army) was formed in Lehui County (present-day Qionghai City). The whole company had three platoons, a total of 100 people, except for porters and trumpet soldiers, all of whom were women, and the company of the Niangzi Army successively participated in the attacks on Wenshi, Xuedao, Zhongbai, and Demarcation, and skillfully cooperated with the main force of the Red Third Regiment.
In 1932, the Qiongya Special Committee of the Communist Party of China set up the second company of the women's army special agent company. In the second anti-"encirclement and suppression" struggle in Qiongya, some of the commanders and fighters of the Niangzi Army died heroically, some of them were scattered and arrested, and the first and second companies of the Niangzi Army disintegrated one after another. Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai spoke highly of the Red Detachment of Women and praised them as "a model of the world revolution."
Carved from granite, the statue sits north to south and is 3.7 meters high, with a total height of 6.8 meters even on the base. The base is paved with stone slabs, surrounded by hexagonal shapes, surrounded by stone railings, covering an area of 40 square meters.
In June 2001, the "Red Detachment of Women's Army Memorial Park" was identified by the Central Propaganda Department as the "National Patriotism Education Demonstration Base". In March 2005, it was identified as a national red tourism classic scenic spot by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee and the National Tourism Administration.
