In August 2020, when Lin Hongqiang visited his jurisdiction, he learned that a seven-year-old disabled child army (pseudonym) in a village was a homeless person. At a time when the state is resolutely "breaking the ice" to settle down barriers and is committed to solving the problem of household registration left over from history, the situation of the military and the army immediately attracted Lin Hongqiang's attention. Through in-depth understanding, Lin Hongqiang learned that Junjun's mother had died in his early years, and his father had never applied for a household registration for Junjun due to his low level of education, lack of awareness of settlement, and incomplete birth certificates for his children. Giving the army an identity certificate has since become an important matter in Lin Hongqiang's heart.

In January 2021, Lin Hongqiang discovered through a platoon that someone had illegally opened a casino in a village at the junction of Muyun Township, Banzhong Township and Shekou Town in Fu'an City. The casino is located in a very remote location, with only a few homes. In order not to scare the snake, Lin Hongqiang and three team members sneaked into the vicinity of the casino first, waiting for the opportunity to arrest.

During the period, Lin Hongqiang disguised himself and sneaked into the gambling scene to firmly keep an eye on the key people to be arrested this time. However, in the process of arrest, Lin Hongqiang was strongly resisted, and in the face of the risk of being injured at any time, he was not afraid, but held the arrested object more tightly, and the two rolled down the hillside together for more than ten years, and then successfully captured it with the assistance of his teammates.

Afterwards, Lin Hongqiang ignored the multiple injuries on his body, took advantage of the victory to pursue, continued to dig deep into the case, successfully investigated the six-person criminal gang led by Zhan Mou, who was entrenched in the wilderness of the mountain and at the junction of townships and towns, and set up casinos to gamble, and successively arrested and arrested the remaining five criminal suspects including Zhan Mou who were still at large, firing the first shot of the Fu'an Municipal Public Security Bureau in 2021 to crack down on gambling-related crimes.

In the past three years since he was a police officer, Lin Hongqiang has participated in handling 268 cases of various types, of which 127 cases have been sponsored, and the settlement rate has always remained above 85%. Because of his outstanding work, he has won 2 personal commendations, 1 outstanding civil servant and 1 personal third class merit.
