90min: Newcastle wants to go on loan + buy out Leno The player has expressed his intention to leave the team to Arteta

According to 90min Network, Newcastle United are interested in completing the loan of German goalkeeper Leno this month and have already discussed the details of the loan agreement with Arsenal, including the obligation to transfer the loan to a direct transfer if the Magpies can be relegated in the Premier League this season.

Last summer, Arsenal brought in England international Ramsdale from relegated sheffield United, and was promoted to starting goalkeeper by Arteta during the season, while Leno was relegated to second goalkeeper and can only make sporadic appearances in cup matches.

Leno joined Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen in 2018 with 18 months left on his current contract. He has made it clear to Arteta that he wants the team to allow him to move, but it is uncertain whether Arsenal will approve his departure this month as the Gunners feel they can go further in the cup.

Newcastle's current top goalkeeper will be Slovakia international Dubravka, but he has experienced a long period of injury before, shortly after his comeback, and recently injured his toe again. Eddie Howe is believed to be considering using the January transfer window to replace the goalkeeper and now has the opportunity to sign a famous player like Leno, whose willingness is very high.

As Newcastle have yet to have a player on loan from any Premier League club this season, they are eligible to loan two Premier League players. If Arsenal release people, Leno could be one of them.
