Baghdad, 19 Jan (Xinhua) -- The Iraqi Ministry of Petroleum issued a statement on 19 January saying that the oil pipeline connecting Kirkuk in northern Iraq and the port of Ceyhan in Turkey, which was interrupted by the explosion, has resumed operation.

The statement said that the Kirkuk-Ceyhan Port oil pipeline, which was interrupted for several hours due to the impact of the explosion accident, has resumed crude oil transportation on the morning of the 19th, which can transport 75,000 barrels of crude oil per day. The accident will not affect the country's oil exports, which will be compensated for by increased production.

According to Turkey's Anadolu News Agency, an explosion occurred on the evening of the 18th near the town of Pazardzek in Kahramanmaras Province, which connects Kirkuk in northern Iraq with the Turkish port of Ceyhan. After the explosion, Bottas, the company responsible for the pipeline operation, announced the temporary closure of the pipeline.
