That's up from $149 billion last year, partly because Forbes unearthed new relevant information, but more because the 25 donors made another huge donation last year.
The combined wealth of the 25 philanthropists is $150 billion more than a year ago, an average increase of 18 percent per person. It is estimated that their combined net worth is as high as $1.1 trillion. Seventeen of them have signed the "Pledge of Giving," promising to donate at least half of their assets to charity in their lifetime or after death.
At the top of forbes' list is Warren Buffett, with $46.1 billion in donations. Since last year, two more new faces have joined the ranks of these philanthropists: Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and his wife, Cari Tuna, and Scott's ex-husband, Jeff Bezos.
