According to the data, Volkswagen Anhui, formerly known as JAC Volkswagen Co., Ltd., was established in 2017 as a joint venture between Volkswagen Group and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and is also the first joint venture of Volkswagen Group in China focusing on new energy vehicles.

At the end of 2020, volkswagen group increased its stake in Volkswagen Anhui to 75%, and the joint venture was renamed Volkswagen (Anhui) Co., Ltd., focusing mainly on the research and development and production of new energy vehicles.

According to the reporter's understanding, Volkswagen Anhui will also build Volkswagen Group's third MEB (Volkswagen Modular Electric Platform) factory in China, and will build pure electric vehicles based on the MEB platform. The first model is expected to go into production in the second half of 2023.

The holding of this supplier conference means that the new car production is ready at the supply chain level.

In this regard, Pei Mingjie, executive vice president and head of the purchasing department of Volkswagen China, said: "Volkswagen Anhui is the first joint venture company in China in which volkswagen group holds a majority stake, and will fully implement the group's processes and standards, which is both a challenge and an opportunity for suppliers. ”
