"Here, I'll beat the drum with a heavy hammer!"

author:Saigo Prosecutor

The few cave dwellings on the yellow land have left an indelible mark on the history of the party over the past century.

Shortly after the inspection in northern Shaanxi, General Secretary Xi Jinping, at the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, once again recounted a dialogue that took place in the caves of Yan'an and revealed the future direction of the Chinese Communist Party.

In the summer of 1945, the democrat Huang Yanpei was invited to walk into Comrade Mao Zedong's cave. At that time, a hundred years after the Opium War of 1840, a 24-year-old political party had changed the rut of a nation that had been trekking in the dark for a long time. In the midst of the influx of exclamations and praises, mr. Huang Yanpei said frankly in the face of this leader who is leading the Chinese Communist Party to create many miracles:

"I have been born for more than sixty years, and what I have heard and heard is not to say, but what I have seen with my own eyes is really called 'its rise and fall' and 'its death is also sudden'. One person, one family, one group, one place, and even one country, many of them have not jumped out of the dominance of the cycle rate. ”

Seeing that Comrade Mao Zedong listened attentively, he continued: "When dafan first gathered, he concentrated on it, and there was no one who did not care about anything, no one did not work hard, perhaps at that time it was difficult and difficult, and only a life was sought from death. Then gradually improved, the spirit gradually let go... In a piece of history, there are also those who are 'slack in politics', there are also those who 'die in government', and there are also those who 'seek glory and humiliation'. In short, there is no way to jump out of this cycle rate. From the past to the present, I know a little bit about the CCP monarchs. It is hoped to find a new way to jump out of the domination of this cycle rate. ”

Hearing a heartfelt remark, Comrade Mao Zedong mused slightly: "We have found a new road, we can jump out of this cyclical rate, this new road is democracy, taking the mass line." Only by allowing the people to supervise the government can the government dare not slacken off. Only when everyone rises up and takes responsibility will no one die in politics. ”

It is here that the boldness of lifting heavy weights and the vision of winning thousands of miles vividly define the historical coordinates between the Communist Party of China and the people in which it is rooted.

Time has passed, and today, more than 70 years later, it has changed. At the venue of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, when the third historical resolution of the Party was about to be released, General Secretary Xi Jinping thoughtfully pointed out:

"After a hundred years of struggle, especially the new practice since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Party, our Party has given a second answer, which is self-revolution." "Our party does not have any special interests of its own, and this is the source and strength of our party's courage to dare to carry out self-revolution."

On January 11, 2022, the seminar on studying and implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the general secretary gave the "first lesson of the new year" to the main leading cadres at the provincial and ministerial levels. When he once again talked about the "cave question," he pointed out in a serious tone: "How can our party have such a long history, such a large scale, and such a long ruling power, how can we jump out of the historical cycle rate of the rise and fall of chaos?" ”

The two answers span the long river of a political party from weak to strong, from nine deaths to prosperity. From exploring the relationship between the party and the people, to focusing on the party itself at the same time and seeking revenge on oneself, what is in the same vein is the soberness and firmness of taking the road of "catching up with the examination", and the original mission and historical self-confidence that will not be forgotten no matter how far we go.

In the cave dwellings with deep mountains and moons and lights like beans, in the battlefield full of gun smoke and extreme hardship, in the construction sites that carry shoulders and carry the trumpets, in the forefront of reform and opening up that dares to be the first and "efficiency is life", in the villages that have shaken off poverty, in the homes of green waters and green mountains, and in the thriving and splendid land of China... There is the answer to the "cave question". That is the answer written by thousands of Chinese Communists with actions, word by word, line by line, page by page.

Yes, the respondents to the "Cave Question" are the Chinese Communists of the past century during the period of the new-democratic revolution, the period of socialist revolution and construction, the new period of reform, opening up, and socialist modernization, and the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Passed down from generation to generation and struggled from generation to generation, with its magnificent strength, it has forged the vigorous vitality of a political party and the loftiness of a country.

To understand today's China, we need to understand the Chinese Communist Party. From the gaze of "the dawn is ahead" to the look back of "a hundred years of achievements, a hundred years of experience", there is a kind of inheritance, a persistence, and the hope of illuminating the future Of China.

A party that "always thinks of danger in times of peace":

"'Catching up' is far from over"

The unremitting reflection on the problem itself also indicates the answer.

Born of sorrow, grown up in sorrow, stronger than sorrow. In the long years, there was a sentence in the national anthem: "The Chinese nation has reached the most dangerous time."

It was 1949, when the blueprint of the new China was being drawn, and when choosing "The March of the Volunteer Army" as the national anthem, there was a voice that thought that since the victory was won, whether the lyrics should be changed. Comrade Mao Zedong and Comrade Zhou Enlai insisted on retaining the original appearance of the lyrics, reminding people that "peace and danger are not forgotten."

Taking history as a mirror, we can know the rise and fall.

Earlier in the year, the victory of the arduous new-democratic revolution in the whole country was a foregone conclusion, and the Second Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was held in Xibaipo. Comrade Mao Zedong put forward the "two musts" to wake up the Communists who cheered victory.

The simple venue shines with the light of thought that illuminates the long road. "We must ensure that comrades continue to maintain a modest, cautious, non-arrogant, and impatient style, and that comrades continue to maintain a style of arduous struggle." General Secretary Xi Jinping revisited it again and again, and said in 2013 when he held a discussion with cadres and the masses in Xibaipo: "To jump out of the historical cycle rate of 'its rise and fall, its demise is also abrupt', we must rely on being sober-minded and relying on maintaining the 'two musts'. ”

In the same period, there is also a classic in the history of the Party: "Today is the day to enter Beijing, and to enter Beijing is to 'catch up with the examination'." Shortly after the conclusion of the Second Plenary Session of the Seventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, when the Party Central Committee left xibaipo for Beiping, Comrade Mao Zedong said meaningfully. The long-term peace and stability of the soon-to-be-born regime has given a new posture to the Communists who are about to embark on a new stage of history.

Be prepared for hesitation, for the country's common way.

Today's Chinese nation has ushered in a great leap from standing up and getting rich to becoming strong, but "the 'catch-up examination' facing the party is far from over." "It is impossible to advance our cause smoothly and achieve our goal smoothly."

In the autumn of 1990, the term "sense of distress" appeared for the first time in party documents. After the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the frequency of this word was so high that it was lamentable. The report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly stated: "Overall planning for development and security, enhancing the sense of distress, and thinking of danger in times of peace are a major principle of our party's governance of the country."

In the drafting stage of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the proposal for long-term goals for 2035, the general secretary personally finalized the establishment of a special chapter to make strategic arrangements for overall development and security, because "we have become more and more deeply aware that security is the premise of development and development is the guarantee of security." ”

"Black Swan" and "Grey Rhinoceros" events are emerging one after another. Together with the praise of historic achievements and historic changes, "the heavy tasks of reform, development, and stability, the number of contradictions, risks, and challenges, the tests of governing the country are unprecedented, and the profound changes in the world that have not occurred in a hundred years are unprecedented."

General Secretary Xi Jinping has warned party members again and again to deeply understand the "four major tests" and "four dangers" facing the party. At the opening ceremony of the seminar on studying and implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in early 2018, he listed 16 specific risks in 8 aspects, including "If a major infectious disease like SARS occurs, what should we do?" ”

As for one of the "four dangers," the "danger of insufficient ability," as early as the Yan'an period, Comrade Mao Zedong pointed out that there was a panic in our ranks, not an economic panic, nor a political panic, but a skill panic. After the 18th Party Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping explained the importance of regular collective study by the Politburo: "Knowledge, science and technology are changing with each passing day. If we close our eyes and listen for 3 months, I am afraid that we will lag far behind the world. At the seminar on studying and implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, he once again talked about the panic of skills: "The most fundamental skill deficiency is the lack of theoretical literacy."

It is difficult to climb slopes, difficult to wade into dangerous beaches, and difficult to cross deep waters. General Secretary Xi Jinping accurately positioned the direction of today's China: "What we are in now is a time when the boat to the middle of the river is more urgent, and the road to the middle of the mountain is steeper, and it is a time when it is more and more difficult to go forward, more and more dangerous, and if you do not advance, you must retreat, and you must enter." ”

The picture is not cute, and the worry is not there.

From a grain of rice, thinking about the strategic security of "Chinese grain, China's rice bowl", warning: "The more grain to eat, the more we must think of when there is no grain." ”

From a drop of water, we can see the people's demands of "people's livelihood first, water control is important", and in recent years, they have traveled through the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River: "Water security is the largest 'gray rhinoceros' in the Yellow River Basin." ”

The prudence of walking on thin ice and the acumen of seeing Ye Zhiqiu run through the process of governing such a large country.

Looking at the history of the party for a hundred years, there are always some "rushing to the examination" road, and after walking back, I found that I was once in the cliff and mud and encountered terrifying waves.

Born in the midst of internal and external troubles, growing up in tribulations and setbacks, growing stronger in overcoming risks and challenges, crossing thousands of mountains and rivers, crossing thorny and dangerous beaches, the Communist Party of China "persevered through thousands of difficulties, and was unswerving in all kinds of dangers."

At the second plenary session of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the general secretary still said in the end that he was worried: "In short, on the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the party, we must be prepared for danger in times of peace and always be vigilant against whether our century-old party will become old and sick. ”

Back to the problem itself. Pondering the "cave question" reflects the rich perspective of the Chinese Communists on the world.

One perspective is the long river of history; one perspective is the changes in the world. The great historical outlook and the great world outlook have created a general pattern of governing the country.

General Secretary Xi Jinping has thought a lot about the causes of the rise and fall of successive dynasties: "I often talk about the historical cycle rate, which is indeed the fate of feudal dynasties in the history of the mainland. ”

Looking at the world, the major changes that have not occurred in a century have accelerated their evolution, and the risks and challenges facing China have increased significantly. The general secretary judged the hour and sized up the situation: "There are all kinds of 'roadblocks' and 'stumbling blocks' on our way forward. "It is unrealistic to always want to live in peace and not want to struggle."

There is also a perspective, which is the strategic vision of looking into the distance.

"'It is only when there is not yet a great deal of obvious, when the top of the mast is just exposed, that this is going to develop into a great deal of universality, and to be able to grasp it, that this is called leadership.'" This kind of leadership that Comrade Mao Zedong talked about is strategic leadership. At the seminar on studying and implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping profoundly discussed the "issue of attaching importance to strategy and tactics."

Last year in northern Shaanxi, a sentence on the wall of the cave kiln, "Policies and tactics are the life of the party," impressed the general secretary and thought: "When did Chairman Mao let everyone learn the book "The Three Hundred Years of Jiashen Festival"? ”

A history book evaluating Li Zi's success was treated in Chongqing and Yan'an. On the one hand, Comrade Mao Zedong was deeply shocked by reading it and included this book in one of the rectification study documents.

It was on the eve of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan. Knowing this time, the general secretary sighed: "The inevitable victory of the Chinese revolution can be found here. Be far-sighted! Here Chairman Mao commanded both the northwestern battlefield and the national battlefield, and at the same time considered the events after the establishment of the new regime. ”

The Chinese Communist Party's understanding of time is "not measured by ten years or a hundred years, but by a hundred years and a thousand years." "It can be seen here that such a style of Chinese Communists has been, present, and future all planned and thought about."

This is the depth of China's history.

A party that "practices people's democracy in the whole process":

"Where does the right path come from? From the masses."

The first answer to the "cave question" is democracy and the mass line.

During that period, the "bean selection" in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region was very popular among the villagers. Which bowl you throw the beans into, you can choose which cadre to come. This is something that Murakami's ancestors have not done for generations.

In the autumn of 2021, at the former site of the Suide Prefectural Committee in Shaanxi Province, General Secretary Xi Jinping looked at the peasants holding porcelain bowls on the oil painting and voting happily, and softly recited the "Election Song": "Golden beans, silver beans, can not be lost casually; choose good people, do good things, and lead us step by step to the right path." ”

Fast forward to November 5, 2021, the voting day for the election of people's congress deputies at the urban and township levels in Beijing. General Secretary Xi Jinping strides into the Huairentang polling station in the Zhongnanhai constituency of Xicheng District. At this moment, he is an ordinary voter who participates in the election of the district people's congress deputies. The general secretary solemnly cast his vote.

More than 2,800 counties (cities, districts), more than 40,000 townships and towns across the country, hundreds of millions of people have also cast a solemn vote. As the world's largest grassroots democratic election, some observers call it, as if sifting through the desert with a sieve, the difficulty can be imagined, but it is orderly in China. The most extensive and vivid practice of democracy has spread over more than 9.6 million square kilometers.

From "bean election" to "vote", the coordinates of history are the vicissitudes of a political party from weak to strong, and what remains unchanged is the core of democracy. In a country with thousands of years of feudal history, what has changed the democracy of the Chinese Communist Party?

During the war years, whenever there was a war in the Central Soviet Region, "Zhuge Lianghui" would be held and a "group speech hall" would be held, and the combat plan absorbed the opinions of soldiers. Democracy, which accumulates small victories into big victories, changes the pattern of war.

At the beginning of the founding of New China, Zhongnanhai HuairenTang. More than 1,200 npc deputies elected from various localities entered the venue. "They come from the lathes, from the fields, from the mines, from the sentries on the coast ... Together with the leaders of the Party and the government they love, they discuss the important affairs of the country. "Democracy, it is this scene written by journalists that changes the way the country is governed.

This scene also happened in today's China. During the drafting of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the 2035 Long-Term Goals, General Secretary Xi Jinping presided over seven forums, one of which was in Changsha, Hunan. Village party secretaries, village teachers, poverty alleviation cadres, migrant workers, large grain growers, truck drivers, courier brothers, restaurant owners, legal workers... "Where does the right path come from?" Come from the masses. "China's future planning intersects with voices from the front line and from the grassroots.

Let's talk about the two sessions of the National People's Congress. In 2020, after the most severe period of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the two sessions of the National People's Congress opened in Beijing in May. The people's mastery of major affairs will not be easily changed.

"The villagers entrusted me" and "everyone in the factory instructed me", and there were often such speeches at the two sessions. Npc deputies from the Gobi mountains, from frontier islands, and from the fields shoulder the heavy trust of hundreds of millions of people.

"Everything has fallen, and everything has an echo." Recalling that year, in the autumn of 1944, Comrade Mao Zedong mentioned such a thing in his article "Serving the People": "The opinion of 'lean troops and simplifying administration' was put forward by Mr. Li Dingming, a person outside the Party; he mentioned it well and was good for the people, so we adopted it." ”

Just last month, at a dialogue on "Chinese and Foreign Scholars On Democracy" held in Beijing, British scholar Martin Jacques frankly admitted that no matter what form of government, it is necessary to seek the well-being of the people, "which is the biggest problem of modern Western democracy", and China has greatly improved people's living standards in the past 40 years.

Listen to these words of General Secretary Xi Jinping: "If the people are only awakened when they vote and enter a dormant period after voting, only listen to the slogans of the sky during the election, have no right to speak after the election, only be favored when canvassing, and be snubbed after the election, such democracy is not real democracy." "Democracy is not an ornament, it is not used as a decoration, but it is used to solve the problems that the people need to solve."

The scope of Chinese-style democracy has long gone beyond the moment the ballot box is thrown into the ballot box, and it has also long surpassed the step into the deliberative meeting. In the 1980s, in Zhengding, Hebei Province, Comrade Xi Jinping often rode his bicycle to the countryside. The common people looked at this cadre kindly and were willing to say anything, and he also found that Zhengding was a "high-yield and poor county" and found a way to remove his hat. He also conducted a questionnaire survey, which is also a rare thing in Zhengding. Tables were set up on the street, and as soon as the people rushing to the market passed by, the cadres of the county party committee handed in questionnaires: "Fellow villagers, the county party committee is conducting an investigation, so please fill in the trouble." ”

The Chinese Communists have a clear attitude toward democratic supervision. At the beginning of 1962, Comrade Mao Zedong criticized some comrades for fearing criticism from the masses: "Where is the reason why Marxist-Leninists are afraid of the masses? When there is a mistake, he does not speak about it himself, and he is afraid of the masses to speak. The more afraid you are, the more ghosts you have. ”

"I often refer to Comrade Mao Zedong and Mr. Huang Yanpei's 'cave pair' in Yan'an. Has the problem of 'cave pairs' been completely solved? I'm afraid not yet. In 2015, General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech at the Central United Front Work Conference hit the nail on the head: "If supervision is regarded as a provocative child, or as a decoration, you will not be able to hear the truth, you will not see the truth, and if you make mistakes and make mistakes, you will not know it, which is very dangerous." ”

Democracy is also the will of the people.

In the new era, people's democracy in the whole process with distinct Chinese characteristics has entered the global vision.

After the important speech of "July 1st", General Secretary Xi Jinping then defined it at the Work Conference of the Central People's Congress as: "It is a full-chain, all-round, full-coverage democracy, and the most extensive, true and effective socialist democracy." ”

This concept was originally proposed, and during the 2019 Shanghai inspection, the legislative contact point of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in the Hongqiao street community was introduced. Looking at China following the footsteps of the Chinese Communists, we can more deeply perceive the rich connotation of democracy: the "Small Courtyard Council Hall" in Beijing's Qianmen Caochang Si tiao, the "Democracy Earnest Discussion Meeting" in Wenling, Zhejiang, the "Consultation And Deliberation Room" in Suzhou, and the "Fengqiao Experience" in the new era... "The many useful explorations of grounding and gathering the wisdom of the people" have brought together the vivid practice of grassroots democracy.

During that inspection in Shanghai, General Secretary Xi Jinping also talked about a dialogue with foreign dignitaries: "'How do you manage so many cities and so many people?'" I said that each of us has limited ability and energy, that is, to break down the management function into all aspects. Systematic management, each shouldering its own responsibilities, mobilizing the enthusiasm of the masses of the people. ”

A party that "has the courage to revolutionize itself":

"We must not breed emotions that are already in place and strict to the end"

Not long after leaving Yan'an, in August 1945, Huang Yanpei published "The Return of Yan'an". The book reads: "I think that the most precious spirit of the CPC friends is to constantly be good and constantly seek progress, and this spirit is brought into full play, and the hope for the future is unlimited." ”

More than 70 years have passed. Indeed, as he observed, the Communist Party of China has always been "seeking good" and "seeking progress." At that time, the "cave question" was not stopped thinking by the Chinese Communists, and gave a second answer in the new great practice: self-revolution.

Throughout the ages, it has always been "easy to revolutionize other people's lives, but it is difficult to revolutionize one's own lives." But only the Communist Party of China has taken the initiative to choose to temper and forge in self-revolution.

In the history of the Party for a long time, there are three historical resolutions.

Perusing the text, the word "erroneous" appears 125 times in the 1945 Resolution on Certain Historical Questions, and the summary of lessons learned is extremely profound;

The 1981 "Resolution on Several Historical Issues Concerning the Party Since the Founding of the People's Republic" clearly states that "upholding the truth and correcting errors" is the fundamental position of dialectical materialism that our party must adopt;

The 2021 Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Major Achievements and Historical Experiences of the Party's Centennial Struggle includes "persisting in self-revolution" in the ten historical experiences of the centennial struggle, clearly declaring that "the greatness of the party does not lie in not making mistakes, but in never hiding illness and avoiding medical treatment, actively carrying out criticism and self-criticism, daring to face problems head-on, and having the courage to self-revolution."

In the history of the Party, those turning points of life and death are often self-revolutions that are reborn again and again in desperate circumstances.

The Gutian Conference in 1929 explored a brilliant path of ideological party building and political army building. After 85 years, General Secretary Xi Jinping came to Gutian and held an all-army political work conference known as the "New Gutian Conference": "Looking back, the political work laid by the Gutian Conference has played a decisive role in the survival and development of our army. ”

The Zunyi Conference in 1935 saved the Party, the Red Army and the Chinese Revolution at the "most critical juncture" when the Red Army failed to oppose "encirclement and suppression" and was seriously frustrated in the early stage of the Long March. When General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Guizhou, he stood in front of the relief of "breaking through the natural danger of the Wujiang River" and lamented the hardships of nine deaths: "At that time, if you can't get by, it will be dangerous..."

After a hundred years of prosperity and prosperity, suffering hardships and endless life, self-revolution with a blade turned inward is precisely the distinctive character of communists.

The general secretary warned the whole party: "I think the only one who can defeat us is ourselves, and there is no second person." "He quoted a passage from Dream of the Red Chamber when he spoke here at a seminar." Jia Tanchun said a sentence when he inspected the Grand View Garden: It can be known that such a large family, if it is killed from outside, cannot be killed for a while, which is what the ancients once said, 'a hundred-footed insect, not dead until death', must first commit suicide from home and kill itself, in order to be defeated. The so-called 'things must first rot and then worms will grow'! ”

In recent years, the issue of honesty and self-discipline, anti-corruption and clean government is the issue that General Secretary Xi Jinping has talked about the most.

As early as in Zhejiang, when he talked about the topic of "stirring up turbulence and promoting purity" at the meeting, he mentioned the risk and possibility of "plunging the country into the historical cycle rate of 'political slacking and eunuchs, and people dying in government' after party members and cadres lose their self-discipline."

During the 2020 Inspection of Shanxi, when it came to the corruption of the collapse method, the general secretary's tone was painful: "It is tolerable or intolerable!" Do we still call them Communists, do we deserve this title? If we do not act honestly and honestly for the common people and do not abide by discipline and the law, our party will not tolerate accommodation. ”

At the two sessions of the National People's Congress in 2021, when participating in the deliberations of the Inner Mongolia delegation, the general secretary criticized corruption in the coal field and solemnly held accountable: "This account always has to be calculated." "There is resolute zero tolerance for incremental corruption, and zero tolerance for existing corruption as long as it is exposed!"

Thunder and thunder, scratching iron with marks. Hundreds of millions of people have witnessed the sonorous promise of the Chinese Communists that "iron must be hardened by itself."

"Here, I'll beat the drum with a heavy hammer!" At the seminar on studying and implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping raised his voice, and in the face of party members and leading cadres from various fields and industries, he cut through the iron: "The attitude of the Party Central Committee is very clear, no matter who has problems in party discipline and state law, party discipline and state law will never forgive!" In particular, those who seize the interests of the state and the people, erode the foundation of the party's ruling power, and shake the socialist state power, as well as those who engage in political gangs, small circles, and interest groups within the party, must be not soft and resolutely investigated and punished! ”

The venue was silent and the words were sonorous.

In the past, there was the persuasion of "the law does not blame the public" in the face of corruption, the doubt that anti-corruption would affect economic development, and even the speculation of the power game of the "House of Cards". In the face of this struggle that cannot afford to lose and must not be lost, General Secretary Xi Jinping has made clear his attitude on many occasions: "Anti-corruption is not a 'power shop' that watches people cook, not a 'house of cards' that fights for power and profits, nor a 'rotten tail building' with a head and no tail." "If you don't offend hundreds of corrupt elements, you have to offend 1.3 billion people." This is a political account that cannot be clearer, and the account of the people's hearts and minds! ”

How can the world be ruled? Win the hearts and minds of the people. Why is there chaos in the world? Lost the hearts of the people.

In the winter of 2014, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, and Cui Ronghai, a 74-year-old veteran party member, squeezed forward.

"Hello, General Secretary! You are the nemesis of corrupt elements and the blessing of the people of the whole country! ”

"Through unremitting efforts, we have exchanged the Haiyan River for a clear and clear future." The general secretary replied.

It is in this investigation that General Secretary Xi Jinping for the first time in the history of our party proposed "comprehensively and strictly governing the party" as an important part of the "four comprehensive" strategic layout.

The key to handling China's affairs well lies in the party, and the key lies in the party's management of the party and the comprehensive and strict management of the party. In October 2016, the Sixth Plenary Session of the Eighteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China conducted a special study on the comprehensive and strict management of the party.

After more than 5 years, from the 18th to the 20th of this month, the sixth plenary session of the 19th Central Discipline Inspection Commission will be held soon, focusing on the comprehensive and strict management of the party. The overwhelming victory in the fight against corruption and its comprehensive consolidation does not mean that it is possible to sit back and relax. "'How old is it?' Endless. As long as it exists, it is endless, that is, it is going on forever. At the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the general secretary particularly stressed: "The comrades of the whole party must always maintain the spirit of self-revolution, enhance the political consciousness of comprehensively and strictly administering the party forever on the road, and must not breed the emotions of being strict in place and strict to the end!" ”

Sober and determined, selfless and fearless.

Comprehensively and strictly administering the party is to grasp the problem of work style that the masses of the people have strongly complained about. Eight regulations, more than ten days after the closing of the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, just over 600 words, small incisions opened up a big change, to solve the style of work style "'tiger eats the sky does not know where to eat the problem'" problem.

At that time, many people underestimated the determination of the Party Central Committee, believing that the eight regulations and the consequent "anti-four winds" were just a gust of wind. Now, more than 9 years have passed, profoundly changing China.

In June 2021, visit the exhibition of the history of the Communist Party of China on "Not Forgetting the Original Heart and Keeping the Mission in Mind". General Secretary Xi Jinping stood in front of an exhibition board for the implementation of the eight regulations, combing through one by one: "It is okay to streamline meeting activities in general, improve guard work and improve news reports well, streamline documents and briefings or repeat them, and practice diligence and thrift are being done..."

Under the above rate, take the lead in setting an example. Take the eighth of them, one year on the eve of the Spring Festival, he went to Liangjiahe, Shaanxi Province, to visit the villagers, bringing with him the New Year goods purchased at his own expense, and went to the hometown to eat and paid the meal fee.

In the rice bowl, there is the politics of the people's hearts. A seat to tell, the truth is dialectical and simple: "We are a little uncomfortable, uncomfortable, the comfort of the people is a little better, the satisfaction is higher, and the feeling for us is better." ”

"As an unswerving fighter, the CCP leads China into the future." "The risk of being subverted from within is reduced"... Foreign countries have keenly captured the changes in China.

Time is the best witness. More than 70 years after ruling the country, the Chinese Communists are still vigorously introspecting and unswerving, and their consciousness to face problems squarely and their courage to turn the blade inward have not diminished, but have become more and more angry in Changhong.

A party that "does not have any special interests of its own":

"Fighting the country and guarding the country is the heart of the people"

Not selfish, but the world is self-righteous.

The lens of history records General Secretary Xi Jinping's solemn declaration in his important speech on July 1: the Chinese Communist Party "has never represented the interests of any interest group, any powerful group, or any privileged class." ”

The resolution of the Sixth Plenum reaffirmed this phrase again.

The party does not have any special interests of its own, and this is the source and confidence of our party's courage to dare to carry out self-revolution. Fight tigers and swat flies, which is "not a doctor", fearless. Public and private, righteousness and profit, right and wrong, honor and disgrace, the boundaries between party members and cadres are clearly drawn.

Politics is going to private. The reason why the two answers to the "cave question" have stood firm in the long river of time is because the Communist Party of China has always represented the fundamental interests of the broadest masses of the people, and has stood in solidarity with the people and relied on life and death.

Always think new. At the Democratic Life Conference of the Politburo last December, General Secretary Xi Jinping once again addressed the issue. "The party's senior cadres have considerable leadership, decision-making power, and command power, and if their positions are unstable, the 'three views' are not correct, and their self-discipline is not strict, it is easy to deviate politically and policy, and they unconsciously or even willingly become the spokesmen of various interest groups, power groups, and privileged strata, then the consequences will be very serious!"

A few days ago, at a seminar on the special topic of studying and implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the COMMUNIST PARTY, the general secretary continued: "On the fundamental issue of who governs for whom, for whom to use power, and for whom to seek profits, our minds must be particularly sober-minded and our stand must be particularly firm. ”

For whom?

In the thick history, in the years of condensation, in the growth of the big party, in the great rejuvenation of a big country, in times of difficulties, in times of victory, in times of struggle, and in times of progress, this huge book has always penetrated the word "people" on the back of the paper.

During the war, a Western journalist asked Comrade Mao Zedong: "Who gave you the power to do things?" Mao Zedong said: "The people give it." If it is not given by the people, who else gives it? ”

On the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping gave a definition on behalf of contemporary communists: "Jiangshan is the people, the people are Jiangshan, and fighting and defending Jiangshan is the people's heart." ”

I will think of what the people are worried about, and I will do what the people want.

In the middle of winter 2012, Fuping, Hebei. The snow covered the majestic Line, and General Secretary Xi Jinping stepped on the snow. A decisive battle between Chinese and poverty began, writing a miracle on earth that has been recorded in the annals of history.

"I'm also from the countryside." "Whenever I go to the homes of the masses, I often ask what difficulties there are, and I keep in mind the words of my fathers and fellow countrymen." The leader of this big country still remembers the "deep shock" when he read the article "The Model of the County Party Secretary - Jiao Yulu" in junior high school. Later, during the work, I felt inspired and wrote a poem: "The soul flies thousands of miles, looking forward to returning, this water, this mountain, this place." Who among the people does not love officials? Turn tears into rain..."

Throughout the ages, countless politicians have pondered the same question: What is politics? The answers are varied. There is a resounding answer from the Chinese Communist Party: The will of the people is the greatest politics.

In the 1980s, Comrade Xi Jinping wrote the book "Getting Rid of Poverty", and in the article "The Basic Skills of Cadres - Close Ties with the People", he quoted Mr. Huang Yanpei's "Cave Question" in a large paragraph, and extended from Comrade Mao Zedong's answer, profoundly explaining the principle of "looking down" and "keeping close ties with the masses". After the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, from the party's mass line education practice activities, to the "three strict and three realistic" special education, to the "two studies and one doing" study and education, to the theme education of "not forgetting the original intention and keeping the mission in mind", and then to the party history study and education, a main line runs through the whole process: seeking happiness for the people.

One day in May 2014, at a special democratic life meeting of the Standing Committee of the Lankao County CPC Committee in Henan Province, the participants were either red-faced or fidgety, and some choked up several times during the control examination. General Secretary Xi Jinping came here the next day to investigate and guide the party's mass line education and practice activities, and his speech at that time is still deafening: "Now, the phenomenon of separation from the masses is more prominent in some aspects than ten, twenty, and thirty years ago. What's the problem? Can't help but provoke us to meditate! "If the viewpoint of the masses is lost, the position of the masses is distorted, and the mass line is deviated, there will be no you in the eyes of the masses."

In the history of the Huanghuang Party, in its unprecedented glory, there have been many doubts, some contempt, a few threats, and a few more singing.

In 1921, when our Party was just born, few people expected to achieve today's great historical cause. During an inspection in the fall of 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping talked about a conversation with foreign scholars, who talked about their perception of China more than 40 years ago: "At that time, I thought you would develop, but I never expected you to develop so fast!" ”

It seems to be the most extraordinary, as easy as it is but difficult. From the era when the country broke the mountains and rivers, from the blue wisps of the yanlu road at the beginning of the founding of new China, to the reform and opening up of the mountains and the bridges in the water, the fuxing road strides forward... The impressive report card of the past century has been written by generation after generation of Communists with ideals and beliefs, forged with blood and life, and won with hard work and dedication.

Before the second plenary session of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, before talking about the topic of "the question of cave dwellings", General Secretary Xi Jinping first talked about "strengthening historical self-confidence". It is the courageous responsibility to crack the historical cycle rate, and it shows the fearless spirit of moving forward without hindrance.

Looking back on the road ahead, there are so many difficulties and challenges, "it can be said that there are several degrees of desperate life, and several degrees of willow and dark flowers." Some people ask, where does the historical self-confidence of the centennial party come from? It comes from the firm belief in turning "impossible" into "possible", from the suffering and glory of the century-old party history from victory to victory, and it is both self-confidence in the achievements of struggle and self-confidence in the spirit of struggle. General Secretary Xi Jinping sighed: "It is with such a spirit that the Communist Party of China has built an old China that is poor, weak, poor and white, into a new China. No longer bullied, we have become a big country, a big country. ”

A new historical process has begun. On the time scale, the Chinese nation stands on a new journey to achieve the goal of the second centenary struggle. Leading the great social revolution with the great self-revolution and promoting the great self-revolution with the great social revolution, in the magnificent practice of revolution, construction, and reform, the party's self-revolution has become the beginning of countless great causes.

In the magnificent era, the party and the people act together. After the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the curtain was drawn on the comprehensive deepening of reform. From "ramming the foundation" to "accumulating momentum", the reform has built up "four beams and eight pillars", and many fields have achieved historic changes, systematic reshaping and overall reconstruction. Housing, medical care, education, pensions... Everything revolves around the concerns of the people. "The great power is also the weight of a big country. In the final analysis, it is a matter of thousands of households. ”

The masses of the people have a scale in their hearts, and whoever really puts the masses of the people at ease will put in their hearts. The historical self-confidence of the Chinese Communists, through a hundred years of ups and downs, through vicissitudes and unchanged original intentions, through the wind and frost, but the true colors are still the same, relying on the support of hundreds of millions of people.

At the starting point of the Long March in Yudu, Jiangxi, the 100,000 Red Army was crossed by the people with small boats; the victory in the Huaihai Campaign was pushed out by the people with a small cart; the story of the Long March of "half a quilt" in Shazhou Village, Hunan Province, vividly interpreted "What is the Communist Party?" "Even if you have a quilt yourself, you have to cut off half of it for the people." Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has visited local areas more than 70 times. Following the red footprints of the party, "every time I go to a place, I relive the period of glory with a reverential heart, and look back on the difficult course that the party has traveled along the way, and my soul has been shaken once and my spirit has been baptized." ”

In 1934, in the face of encirclement and suppression with a huge disparity in strength, Comrade Mao Zedong was full of confidence: "What is the real copper wall and iron wall?" It is the masses, the millions of masses who sincerely support the revolution. "More than 80 years later, in the thrilling anti-epidemic war, the party united and led more than 1.4 billion Chinese people to become a city, and a people's war won the initiative with the trend of destruction and decay. General Secretary Xi Jinping gave such a compliment: "To defeat this epidemic, what gives us strength and confidence is Chinese people. ”

Mountains and rivers are proof, and the years are a lesson.

"Today, we can fully say that the Communist Party of China has not failed to live up to history and the people's choice."

Along the central axis of Beijing, all the way north, the Exhibition Hall of the History of the Communist Party of China, a new spiritual hall stands majestically between heaven and earth. On the eve of the celebration of the centennial party, General Secretary Xi Jinping led the leading comrades of party members to come here. Facing the party flag, they raised their right fists together and solemnly swore an oath.

"I volunteered to join the Communist Party of China..."
