Harbin ice sculpture artist Liu Dechen spent ten days carving the ice cubes taken from the Songhua River into the Beijing Winter Olympics mascot "Ice Pier", and presented the Beijing Winter Olympics. When I saw the mascot, I thought it was particularly appropriate, because this mascot was called "ice pier", but there was no ice to make, so I wanted to make an ice sculpture of the ice pier, to make a real "ice pier".
In this way, an idea to create a "ice pier" was born. While making ice sculptures, Liu Dechen also thought that this was a good opportunity to spread the ice and snow culture of Heilongjiang.

After the ice is hollowed out, the process of stacking is broken, and after the stacking is finished, there is a layer of watering (water) in the process, in the process of coloring, that is, the temperature is too low and fried. In fact, these processes I did not reflect in the video, just let everyone see me completed, in fact, there are a lot of bitter processes, the mood is particularly broken.
Any success is no accident, and choosing to walk firmly on one path is never easy. Liu Dechen's "ice pier" is divided into four layers, in order to ensure that the "ice pier" is a colorless transparent ice shell on the outside, the entire ice sculpture adopts a unique design of hollow coloring. If you want to paint on the ice at more than -20 degrees below zero, the most important thing is to prevent the ice sculpture from breaking.
I built a shed for it, and in this shed, I would light the electric heater, probably so that the temperature could be within minus ten degrees, so that I would spray the paint on the ice so that it would not explode.
Finally, after ten days, Liu Dechen's Douyin short video ushered in the finale, and the "ice pier" finally appeared.
Although the story of the creation of the ice sculpture "Ice Pier" is over, its mission has only just begun. On January 4, the "ice pier" was transported to Beijing and placed in the residence of the winter Olympic athletes in the Yanqing area of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
We Songhua River represents Heilongjiang, represents our regional culture, part of the motherland, we use the ice sculpture made of Songhua River ice to transport to Beijing, I think the significance is very good.
