At the press conference, Zhou Min, deputy director of the Emergency Office of the Ministry of Transport, introduced that it is expected that the Spring Festival in 2022 will send 1.18 billion passengers nationwide, with an average of 29.5 million passengers per day, an increase of 35.6% over 2021. As one of the main passenger transport forces of the Spring Festival every year, the railway faces the double test and pressure of ensuring passenger travel and preventing and controlling the new crown epidemic.
Zhu Wenzhong, deputy director of the Passenger Transport Department of the State Railway Group, introduced at the press conference that from the current pre-sale of Spring Festival tickets, the basic travel needs such as the flow of students, migrant workers and visiting relatives in the Spring Festival of the railway in 2022 will still maintain a certain scale, but due to the impact of the epidemic and the guidance of local prevention and control policies, there is greater uncertainty and variability in passenger travel. In terms of fully arranging transportation capacity, Zhu Wenzhong said that in general, the daily supply capacity of spring transport seats can reach about 10.5 million, an increase of 10% over 2019, and the passenger capacity can meet the travel needs of spring transport passengers. The railway department will dynamically arrange the operation of passenger cars and the release of capacity according to the changes in passenger flow, and strive to ensure the dual needs of passenger travel and epidemic prevention and control.
In terms of strengthening the organization of passenger transportation, we will continue to implement a balanced ticketing strategy, strictly control the train load rate; strengthen the optimization of the layout of self-service equipment at the station to avoid personnel gathering and waiting; extend the processing time of the Internet ticketing and rebooking business, and provide 24-hour refund services to better facilitate passengers to handle related business online. In terms of external defense input, we will strengthen the control of key links such as aircraft, human and material transfers, do a good job in ventilation and disinfection of airport terminals, zoning control of key areas, strictly implement the "four designations, four fixations, and two concentrations" of key populations, and closely cooperate with relevant local departments to do a good job in the closed-loop management of the whole process after passenger entry.
