Telling a cautionary tale showcasing the beauty of the opera Huangmei opera "Dance Dress" will premiere in March

This new drama, which shows the joy of opera art, the joy of seeing sorrow, and the harmony of sorrow and joy, is expected to premiere at Hubei Xiqu Art Center on March 25.

Huang Mei's play "Dance Clothes" takes the story of the Tang Dynasty Yuan Zai, one of the four great greedy people in Chinese history, from a Hanshi to an official who worships Xiangguo, a very popular subject, and later suffered from the collapse of his life due to corruption, and with the dramatic inner changes of his wife Wang Yunxiu as the weft, it tells a story of life like a drama and plain is really a warning story, conveying intriguing and reflective philosophical ideas.

According to reports, the play is a key supported play by the Propaganda Department of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and since the establishment of the project, the script has changed its draft four times. Among the main creative team, screenwriter Luo Zhou is the youngest winner of the "China Drama Award, Cao Yu Script Award", the highest award for Chinese screenwriters; Tong Weiwei, who is the general director, has won many awards such as the "Five One Project" award of the Central Propaganda Department. In addition, it also gathers music design Xu Zhiyuan, stage design Wu Fang, lighting design Zhu Shiming, clothing design Lan Ling and other industry masters.

The repertoire is starred by Yang Jun, a Huangmei opera performance artist, a representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage Huangmei opera project, and the winner of the "Plum Blossom Award", and Cao Zhulai, a young master of Huangmei opera, who play Wang Yunxiu and Yuan Zai respectively. In the cast, there are also Wang Huijun, Duan Qiuping, Wu Jinliang, Shi Jing, Feng Zhigang, Luo Qing, Lin Yang, Chen Weiqi and other young and middle-aged celebrities and outstanding actors. All the "drama seedlings" of the Huangmei Opera Class, who have been entrusted and trained by the Hubei Provincial Art Vocational College and have been studying art for 6 years, will also participate in the performance.

Cheng Cheng, director of the Huangmei Drama Troupe of the Provincial Opera Art Theater, said that it will continue to be carefully polished to make the play a masterpiece of the times that interprets Chinese stories.
