Sitting less and more motivation reduces the risk of multiple deaths

The Journal of the American Medical Association Oncology published a study saying that sitting less and moving more can reduce the risk of death.

The study included 1535 cancer patients over the age of 40. During a follow-up period of up to 9 years (median time of 4.5 years), a total of 293 people died, of which 114 died of cancer, 41 died of heart disease, and 138 died of other causes. The data showed that compared with inactive people, physical activity during leisure time was associated with a 66% lower risk of all-cause death and a 68% lower risk of cancer death. Sitting for more than 8 hours a day was associated with an 81-fold increased risk of all-cause death and a 1.27-fold increase in the risk of cancer death compared with sitting for less than 4 hours a day.

Male infertility may be related to genetic mechanisms

Male infertility may have a cause unknown in the past. Studies published in Nature Communications reveal that male infertility may be related to genetic mechanisms.

The researchers say the newly discovered genetic mechanisms have led to a real paradigm shift in understanding the causes of male infertility and could also help doctors provide the best treatment options for couples with infertility in the future. These nascent mutations mainly lead to dominant forms of infertility, that is, as long as there is a mutated gene, it will cause infertility. Therefore, a large proportion of the children born by such MD patients through assisted reproduction methods (especially sons) may inherit infertility from their fathers.

Huahai Pharmaceutical's anti-cancer drugs were approved for clinical trials

Huahai Pharmaceutical announced that its subsidiary, Shanghai Huaaotai Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd., has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to carry out clinical trials.

HB0036 is a bispecific antibody that targets programmed death receptor ligand 1 (PD-L1) and T cell immunoglobulin and ITIM domain (TIGIT), which can simultaneously bind to PD-L1 and TIGIT targets with high specificity, block the two mediated immunosuppression, reactivate the immune system's killing of tumor cells, and ultimately achieve synergistic anti-tumor effect. Preclinical studies have shown that HB0036 is significantly more effective than the monotherapy group and comparable to the two-drug combination group.

Diabetics should eat these four foods less

Wang Silu, vice president of the Inner Mongolia Nutrition and Health Promotion Association, reminded that sugar friends should eat less of all kinds of "sweet and sour foods", glutinous rice foods, rice porridge foods and fruit juices.

Specifically, sweet and sour dishes in the process of cooking and processing are added a large number of white sugar and other spices, after eating will cause greater fluctuations in blood sugar; glutinous rice will cause greater blood sugar fluctuations after entering the body, its glycemic index is larger; rice porridge food boiling time is longer, porridge will be particularly viscous, so that after entering the body, blood sugar will rise particularly fast; if you drink a large amount of juice at one time, it will inevitably increase sugar intake, increase the burden on the body of diabetics, and affect blood sugar.

Scientists have discovered a method of cartilage regeneration

According to a study published in Science, there is a way to make rabbits' knees re-grow cartilage, which brings hope for a cure for human arthritis.

In the process of studying cartilage regeneration, researchers have found that electrical signals are the key to normal growth. They designed a tissue scaffold made from poly-L-lactate (PLLA) nanofibers, a biodegradable polymer commonly used to suture surgical wounds. This nanomaterial has a "piezoelectric property", that is, when squeezed, it produces trace amounts of current. Regular daily movements of the joints, such as walking, cause the PLPA scaffold to produce a weak but stable electric field that prompts the cells to colonize and grow into cartilage.
