In order to help create a model city of world heritage and cultivate world heritage cultural and creative products, the 2021 Quanzhou Cultural and Creative Tourism Commodity Design Competition was launched in October 2021, collecting a total of 863 works. Designers, college students, and design institutions from all over the country contributed their best works, and innovative competition mechanisms were derived and landed in research activities, theme exhibitions, etc., and products have also made breakthroughs from design to landing.
The competition is hosted by Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, and organized by Qiao Xiang Cultural and Sports Industry Development Co., Ltd., a proprietorship enterprise of Quanzhou Cultural Tourism Group.

Highlight the charm of the world heritage Quanzhou
This morning, under the leadership of the professional docent of Quanzhou Haijiaoguan, 12 contestants listened to the style of the World Heritage Exhibition Hall of Haijiaoguan and felt the charm of Quanzhou. Subsequently, the contestants also had in-depth interaction and exchanges with Lin Han and Chen Yingyan, deputy directors of quanzhou haijiao museum, discussed the combination of world heritage Quanzhou elements and cultural and creative products, deeply understood the cultural connotation of world heritage Quanzhou, and felt the style of "Song and Yuan China Haisi Quanzhou" in the exchange.
The competition adopts a combination of online and offline methods, and the on-site contestants explain the traditions and innovations in the works around the theme of the competition, "Creating by Rebirth", and tell the experience of the creation process.
Some contestants introduced their works in the form of video connection interaction and had in-depth communication with the judges. Imaginative ideas, ingenious ideas, and whimsical ideas are presented to the audience, which is breathtaking.
Mr. Chen Bin, Secretary General of tourism commodities and equipment branch of China Tourism Association, Huang Min, second-level researcher of resource development department of Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Ms. Ding Yuling, director of Quanzhou Overseas Transportation History Museum, Mr. Yang Xuetai, vice dean of the School of Fine Arts of Huaqiao University and dean of the Industrial Design Research Institute of Huaqiao University, Mr. Huang Jian, former dean of the School of Fine Arts and Design of Quanzhou Normal University, and Mr. Wu Junwei, president of Fujian Tourism Commodity Association, Mr. Wu Daxin, a contemporary artist from Quanzhou, and other experts served as judges.
For the highlights of the contestants' works, the on-site judges expressed their affirmation, and the shortcomings of the works also gave professional suggestions and opinions, and through the comprehensive evaluation of the on-site judges, 6 "City Gift Awards" stood out.
It is worth mentioning that in order to cultivate the cultural and creative products of the World Heritage City, this competition has specially set up the "World Heritage Special Award", and a group of young creators have taken the World Heritage elements as the core to dedicate their own creativity to the city of Quanzhou.
"Through the competition, I have appreciated excellent products from all over the country," said Shi Kexin, a contestant of the competition, "and the valuable opinions given by the judges have provided great help to improve and enhance the works." This is undoubtedly a very good display platform for young people who have rich creativity but lack of space to show their skills. We are pleased to see more and more young blood injected into the ancient city, and hope that more people can see the rich cultural and historical heritage of our hometown and the charm of Quanzhou through our works. ”
After the work display session, the Xinshuinan Music Team brought two new arrangements of Nanyin, "Wind Playing Pear" and "One Body". The beautiful and gentle nanyin is like a flowing language, telling folklore. Millennium ancient music, regained a new "sound". It is also in line with the theme of this competition, "Creation by New Life", which is an innovative combination of tradition and modernity.
At the scene, the leading guests attending the meeting presented the "City Gift Award" and "World Heritage Special Award" to the contestants, and awarded the "University Organization Award" to the outstanding university tutors.

Since 2018, the Runwu Silent Quanzhou Cultural and Creative Tourism Commodity Design Competition has been successfully held for four sessions. In the past four years, many excellent literary and creative works with feelings, heavy design and high quality have been born, which are based on quanzhou urban culture, carrying the cultural connotation of Quanzhou city and showing the cultural heritage and design vitality of Quanzhou.
After the award ceremony of the competition, the three intended enterprises signed on-site contracts with the authors of the shortlisted World Heritage Special Award to help more and better cultural and creative products land and push them to the market.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, in recent years, Quanzhou Has made great efforts to guide tourism-related enterprises and university students to design and develop tourism products with Quanzhou cultural characteristics, enhance the cultural connotation and added value of tourism commodities, promote the innovative development and market prosperity of tourism commodities, and vigorously promote the development of the cultural tourism industry.
