The story takes place in a small village in Romania in September 1953, when Romania was still under Soviet control.

The village's hot little couple, Rango and Mara, unscrupulously in various parts of the village, in the flower fields, in the valleys, cuddling and doing indescribable things, they can no longer seem to find any better way to convey their feelings. But in this "pure" village, how could the simple villagers allow this to happen, and Ranku and Mara's father was angry, insulting each other and beating up at each other in a tavern. The wedding began, and no one made a sound the whole time, silently raising a glass, silently blessing, like a silent movie, very quiet. Just then, Ranku's father suddenly let out a loud fart, which seemed particularly loud and very funny, and everyone was laughing hard.

Suddenly, a thunderclap sounded, followed by torrential rain, which suddenly broke the silence of the scene. Mara's father took the initiative and decided that everyone could enjoy the wedding to the fullest and not be bound by anything. The music suddenly rang out, and everyone sang and danced with the song, indulging in joy. The inner strength of all the people seemed to be awakened by the thunder in an instant, as if it were the last carnival. When everyone was happy, a tank suddenly drove into the house, and for a time the scene was bloody. Mara's father was killed in the chaos, while the rest of the men in the village were taken. Years later, Mara had become an old woman, dead and alive, no longer as sunny as ever.

The silence here represents utter silence, without words, without any sound of collision, pulling, chewing. The rebellion against power and dictatorship brought the villagers long-lost happiness, but it also made this special wedding turn into a funeral.

It may take courage to face history, but it should not be hidden and forgotten. "Silent Wedding" should be regarded as a comedy, a relatively sad comedy, which is mainly composed of two parts, one part is realistic, gray, cold, and mocking the real world, as the tragic background of the whole film, rather than directly from comedy to tragedy; the other part is a reminiscent comedy story, embedded in the tragic background. Just like a pearl mussel, the rougher and unsightly the outside, the more precious the pearl inside will be. If pearls are fused with shells, they will have little value. The same is true of movies, the transition from comedy to tragedy can make the film lengthy and exhausting, and the two are mixed, the comedy will weaken, and the tragedy will not necessarily increase. And this "Silent Wedding" is wrapped in tragedy, all the comedy plots are more glorious, and the audience in front of the screen will push the happiness to the climax as in the movie, and will also feel sad as all the joys stop abruptly. At the same time, the movie also integrates many thrilling plots, such as the white girl who came back from the dead, the Latin doll, the flying person, all of which add a thriller flavor to the movie, but this thriller is the additive of the movie, the seasoning, this thriller does not affect any of the characters in the movie, nor does it promote the plot because of the thriller plot.

We know that the horror effect is often a component of intimidation on a certain object, but the horror in this movie is particularly weak, and even the perpetrator does not achieve any punishment and intimidation effect, the girl in white is raped to death but the dead and resurrected will still be scared away, n years later can still only float in the village, even the ghosts are subject to people like puppets, this is the saddest part. "Silent Wedding" is indeed a very nice work, may be the theme and some of the restrictive plot to lead to the film is relatively niche, but there should be a deleted version on the Internet, I personally feel that the deleted version and the original version compared to the plot did not affect too much, everyone is interested in looking for it.
