German photographer Robert Rieger's series of works for Italian fashion brand Emil celebrates timeless femininity and elegance through warm tones and romantic lighting. Shot in an idyllic natural setting next to the brand's headquarters in northern Italy, the collection of images is a meditation on the female form and its beauty.
Emil is a brand that sees women as feminine, intelligent and bold individuals through small clothing and design collections made by Italian artisans. Under the direction of creative and consulting studio Juma, their latest atlas, taken by Rieger, highlights the brand's refined aesthetic rigor and research work on contemporary femininity – through the introspective involvement of women in themselves and the nature around them.
Combining the own characteristics of theatrical actress Emilia Scarpati Fanetti, the series takes the viewer back to the long days of the Golden Light of the Italian Riviera in the 1960s through pastel-coloured photographic work, inviting them to appreciate the exquisite materials of elegant bespoke clothing and jewelry while savoring the tranquil atmosphere and nostalgic charm – both a celebration of the past and an inspiration for women today and tomorrow.
