The name of this "dark horse" is called Zhongke Haoxin, although it is not as famous as Huawei HiSilicon, but its research on digital signal processor chips is very in-depth. In March this year, according to the official of Zhongke Haoxin, its first DSP chip based on RISC-V architecture developed by itself has completed tape-out testing and will soon achieve mass production.
As we all know, there are only two mainstream chip architectures in the world, one is the X86 architecture of the computer CPU processor launched by Intel, and the other is the ARM architecture of the mobile chip, which almost occupies a monopoly position. But RISC-V takes a different approach, as the world's first open source instruction set, RISC-V provides new solutions for many chips.
This time, Zhongke Haoxin chose the RISC-V architecture as the basis of the DSP chip, but also because of its advantages brought by open source, that is, it can add a lot of its own things, which is often said to be the degree of localization. It is reported that before in the field of DSP chips, the country mainly relied on imports, and it was impossible to get rid of foreign technology.
But now the situation is different, with the breakthrough of Zhongke Haoxin, domestic DSP chips have ushered in great progress, as long as other companies keep up with the pace of Zhongke Haoxin, the future domestic DSP chips will completely replace similar foreign products.
