Guo Buluo Wanrong, Manchurian Zhengbaiqi, was born on November 13, 1906 in nei rongyuan province, minister of the ministry of internal affairs.
By the age of 16, she had grown into a great beauty who was proficient in piano, chess, calligraphy and painting and was famous for her beauty in Beijing. In 1922, she was elected to the palace and became the last empress of China.
The photograph was taken in 1924, when Feng Yuxiang had just staged a coup d'état in the city of Beijing and had his general Lu Zhonglin lead troops to force Puyi and Wanrong to move out of the palace.
At the time of this photo, Wanrong was lighting herself a cigarette. At this time, Wanrong's face was with an undisguised haggardness, and in terms of spiritual temperament, it was already very different from when she first left the palace.
The graceful face of walking in the rain with glasses is very temperamental.
