3 prisoners from a prison in the Philippine capital 2 have been killed

At 18:00 on January 17, the Corrections Bureau of the Philippine Department of Justice released a message saying that 3 prisoners who escaped from the New Bilibid Prison in the capital region had an exchange of fire with the police during the absconding process, 2 prisoners were killed by the police, and 1 prisoner was still at large.

Gabriel Chaclag, a spokesman for the Corrections Bureau, said the police pursuit was continuing and offered a reward of 100,000 Filipino pesos (about 12,376 yuan) for the last prisoner's clue.

Meanwhile, Philippine Justice Minister Menardo Guevarra said the National Bureau of Investigation would step in to investigate and punish officials who committed mistakes in the incident.
