A few days ago, Canon Zhuhai announced that it would terminate production due to the sharp shrinkage of the global camera market and the impact of the epidemic. As soon as the news came out, it attracted widespread attention. Canon's Zhuhai plant was once one of Canon's important overseas production bases and one of the few largest factories in Zhuhai. On January 14, a reporter from the Daily Economic News learned from Canon's Zhuhai factory that the factory is currently on holiday, and most of the employees are still staying in Zhuhai waiting for the compensation plan to land. On the afternoon of January 14, relevant people from Canon (China) made a detailed response to reporters, saying that after the Zhuhai factory shut down the small digital camera production line, there will be a small parts production line. The reporter learned that the proportion of the imaging system business in the total turnover of Canon Group in 2020 has dropped to 17.1%, and the printing business is the core pillar business of Canon.
