Robertson beat McGill 6-3 in the first round, won seven-time O'Sullivan 6-4 in the quarter-finals, and defeated Golden left-handed Mark Williams 6-5 in the semi-finals to reach the Masters final for the fourth time and compete with Hawkins for the final title. Hawkins beat Selby and Trump 6-1, 6-5 to reach the Masters final for the second time.

The final was played in a 10-win format of 19 innings, with Hawkins taking the lead in the first set and 60-30 on several occasions. Robertson gradually got into shape in the second set, scoring 50 points to equalize 112-7. In the third set, Robertson scored the first shot of the final to break the 100 and scored 105 clean sheets to take a 2-1 lead. Hawkins seized the situation in the fourth set and went into the break with a 65-20 win to 2-2.

In the fifth inning, Robertson completed a 77-67 comeback 3-2 with Hawkins scoring 60 runs. In the sixth inning, Robertson shot two 54-pointers to go 108-16 to the next set 4-2. In the second stage, Hawkins scored 69 points to win 74-14 and chase another set. Robertson was then in full control of the game, scoring 68 points in the 11th inning to keep a 72-0 clean sheet, winning 62-16 in the 12th inning, and playing his second personal score in the 13th inning to score 114 points 9-4 to win match points. Robertson scored a quick win in the 14th set, locking in a 77-0 win and winning 10-4 in the next four innings.

This is Robertson's 21st ranking champion and sixth triple-major title, which also allows Robertson to leapfrog Higgins to eighth place in the history of triple-major championship.
