Tangshan cockles, also known as hairy cockles, are mollusks of the mollusk Phylum Axe foot. A double shellfish that approximates the blood cockle, the shell is oblong, ovoid, the shell is thick, the right shell is small, the epidermis has a gray-brown raw fur shell, which is easy to fall off, the ribs at the top of the left shell are granular, and there are thirty to forty fine radiating ribs between the two shells, often inhabiting the sediment of fresh water injected into shallow seas.

Clams, clams because of its tender and fresh meat, rich in nutrition, known as "the world's freshest". It is one of the main shellfish traditionally farmed in China's tidal flats. Clams are not only delicious and nutritious, but also have high therapeutic and medicinal value.
Clams belong to the mollusc phylum , bivalves , heterodonted subclass. More than 30 kinds of coastal areas have been found in China, most of which inhabit the shallow seabed within 100 meters of the middle and lower regions of the intertidal zone and the subtidal zone, and a few can live in the deep sea above 100 meters.
In the feeling of foreign Tangshan people like me, there is no big difference between hemp cockles and clams, but there are more brown short hairs on the shell of hemp cockles, and the flesh is tighter, but in the eyes of the native Tangshan people, the two are completely different!
There are many ways to eat hemp cockles and clams, boiling, roasting, stewing, shabu- shabu, stir-frying, mixing, and many times, according to personal preference!
In fact, in my opinion, the most common way to eat hemp cockles is nothing more than two, one is the general method of seafood, directly boiled with water and salt to eat, one is the hair cockle mixed with spinach, in Tangshan, have not heard or seen with clam meat mixed with spinach, as long as there is this dish, it must be hemp cockles!
Writing this, it's just that today my wife made hemp cockles mixed with spinach again!
Of course, blending oil with mustard is indispensable!
