TORONTO, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Canadian "national treasure" singer Celine Dion announced through her official website on January 15 that due to health problems, the remaining performances of the North American segment of her world tour called "Courage" were cancelled.
The cancellations were 19 concerts scheduled for early March and late April in 16 U.S. and Canadian cities. She completed 52 "Courage" world tours before the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged North America in March 2020.
Celine Dion said she needed treatment for severe and persistent muscle cramps that prevented her from performing on stage. She said that while she was recovering, the process was longer than expected. The medical team will continuously assess and treat her health.
In October, she was forced to cancel a series of residency performances scheduled for early November to early February in Las Vegas, USA, due to muscle cramps.
Celine Dion, 54, said she was eager to return to the stage, but had to be more patient and follow a doctor-developed routine.
