Tesla: The accident rate crushes all American cars only 1/9 of the U.S. average

Recently, Tesla released the "Vehicle Safety Data Report" for the fourth quarter of 2021, which collects vehicle data and investigates the accident rate in different conditions per mile under assisted driving.

Since 2018, Tesla has released vehicle safety reports every quarter to compare the accident rate of automatic assisted driving turned on or not.

The report shows that owners who use Autopilot have an average of one accident per 4.31 million miles; owners who do not use Autopilot but have active safety enabled have an average of one accident per 1.59 million miles;

Previously, first-quarter data showed that owners who did not use Autopilot and did not use active safety had an average of one accident per 978,000 miles; in the United States, there was one car accident every 484,000 miles.

Compared to Tesla, which turns on Autopolit and actively safely, Tesla's average mileage accident rate is about 1/9 of the U.S. average.

One of the main themes of Tesla data is that Tesla vehicles have the lowest average mileage accident rate, regardless of whether they use Autopolit and enable active safety.

For Tesla owners, the AP and active safety functions are turned on, which is conducive to improving driving safety. However, it should be emphasized that during use, the driver himself must also pay attention to the road conditions in real time.
