The day after arriving at Gulangyu Island, early in the morning I went straight to No. 13 Zhonghua Road, the poet Shu Ting's home on Gulangyu Island. I counted one house number after another, and finally counted to the 15th. Next to No. 15 is No. 11, there is a small deep alley in the middle, and you come to the end to no. 13 Zhonghua Road.

I sat down on the steps in the doorway. The alley was silent, and only one sanitation worker passed by. In the courtyard of No. 15 next door, a large bougainvillea was planted, and the purple-red flowers were in full bloom and spread out of the outer wall. I walked out of the alley and looked back at 13 Zhonghua Road again. Although I didn't meet Shu Ting, nor did I really visit the old house, the regret in my heart has been made up. Since then, my "oak dream" has a more solid foundation.
