The Chinese Embassy in the United States refutes the Washington Post editorial on the traceability of the new crown virus: it ignores the facts and has no basis

Source: Chinese Embassy in the United States

[On September 1, the Washington Post published an editorial titled "Searching for the Source of the Virus," which distorted the facts about the traceability of the new crown virus and seriously misled readers' cognition.] The spokesman of the Chinese Embassy in the United States immediately sent a letter to the editorial board of the newspaper in response and asked for publication to correct the audio-visual, but was rejected. After that, the newspaper continued to publish other commentaries and letters from readers spreading the "Leak Theory of Chinese Laboratories". This shows that the newspaper does not respect scientific facts, nor does it respect "freedom of news and speech", and cannot tolerate objective and impartial voices. The full text of the letter is published as follows:]

In an editorial published on September 1, "Looking for the Source of the Virus," you reported that "China vigorously obstructed the WHO investigation at the beginning of this year, calling for an investigation into the Fort Detrick Laboratory with the intention of diverting attention and deliberately concealing the truth." This claim is unfounded and unfounded. The Chinese side has twice received the WHO expert team to China to carry out traceability work, met all its visiting requirements, and the experts went to all the places they wanted to go to in Wuhan, including the Wuhan Institute of Virology, met with all the people they wanted to meet, and viewed all the information they wanted to see. On the other hand, the US side has closed the door to traceability to death, and it is deliberately concealing the truth.

Not only In China, but also in many countries, including the Us media, and experts have called for an investigation. Deborough has been engaged in coronavirus research and transformation for a long time, and there have been many biosecurity incidents. In 2001, there was an anthrax attack in the United States that killed five people, and the suspect came from the laboratory. In 2009, the laboratory suspended some of its research work because it found pathogens that were not included in the database, and in 2014 it was prosecuted for loopholes in handling toxic substances. In June 2019, the laboratory suffered a serious safety incident and was shut down, followed by an outbreak in the United States with symptoms similar to covid-19 symptoms. For example, in July 2019, 54 people in the Greenspring community in Virginia, just an hour's drive from Deburg, developed symptoms such as cough and pneumonia; in July of the same year, a mysterious e-cigarette pneumonia broke out in Wisconsin. What is the connection between these events? When does the US side intend to publicly clarify this?

It's not just De Bourge who is in doubt, the Barrick team at the University of North Carolina has long had an extremely mature ability to synthesize and modify the coronavirus. Between January 2015 and June 1, 2020, the university reported a total of 28 safety incidents involving genetically engineered microorganisms to the National Institutes of Health, six of which involved coronaviruses including SARS, MERS and the new coronavirus, and a total of 8 researchers may have been infected. Disturbingly, the vast majority of people exposed to the virus live normally, wearing only surgical masks and reporting body temperatures.

In addition, the real timeline of the epidemic has not received the attention it deserves. According to reports, long before China first reported the new crown pneumonia cases, there were already cases very similar to the new crown pneumonia in the United States, Italy and other countries. Covid-19 infections in at least five U.S. states predate the reporting of the first confirmed case in the United States. According to the latest reports in the US media, the first case of new crown pneumonia death in the United States appeared in early January 2020, several weeks earlier than the beginning of February previously identified by the US official. Italy tested blood samples from nearly 1,000 volunteers in 2020 and found that 111 volunteers tested positive for antibodies in their blood samples, the earliest of which was collected in the first week of October 2019, indicating that they were likely infected in September.

The above information is public, not made up by the Chinese side, and it is not used to divert attention. If we really want to avoid a similar epidemic from attacking mankind again in the future, the people have reason to know the truth, Chinese as a victim of the epidemic, and even more reason to ask: If the United States insists so much on the claim of laboratory leakage, should it not invite WHO experts to Deburg and North Carolina to investigate? Shouldn't traceability be carried out in a comprehensive manner at multiple points and in many places around the world?
