China.com, 13 Jan (Reporter Li Zhi) Today, the 67th press conference on Xinjiang-related issues in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was held in Beijing. Xu Guixiang, spokesman for the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, pointed out that on December 23 last year, the United States signed into law the so-called "Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act." Ignoring the truth of the facts, the law maliciously slandered China's labor situation in Xinjiang, openly interfered in Xinjiang affairs, suppressed Xinjiang's industries, disrupted Xinjiang's development, grossly interfered in China's internal affairs, and vainly attempted to realize the "xinjiang to control China" plot and curb China's development, which was strongly condemned by the Chinese people and the world's righteous forces.

Xu Guixiang said that based on false information and lies, the United States has concocted and promulgated the "Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Law" on the premise that there is no basis in international law and no factual basis, and sanctions relevant entities and individuals in Xinjiang in the form of US domestic law. This kind of evil behavior is a manifestation of the United States' pursuit of power politics and bullying, a trampling on the spirit of human rule of law, a poison to the international rule of law environment, and even more a satire of American values. The purpose of the United States in doing this is not to safeguard the interests of the Uyghur masses in Xinjiang at all, but to attempt to create "forced unemployment" and "forced poverty" in Xinjiang, to infringe on the human rights of the people of all ethnic groups, including the Uyghurs, and to undermine the excellent situation of stability, peace, and contentment in Xinjiang. It can be seen from this that this so-called "law" is a completely evil law.

Xu Guixiang stressed that the so-called "forced labor" is completely a false proposition. Xinjiang has always adhered to the people-centered development ideology, held high the banner of socialist rule of law, strictly abided by the spirit of the Chinese Constitution and laws, actively practiced international labor standards, and effectively protected the labor rights and interests of the masses of all ethnic groups; governments at all levels vigorously implemented active employment policies, fully respected the wishes of workers, safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests of workers, and enabled people of all ethnic groups to create a happy life and achieve their own development through hard work.

At the press conference, Ali Shivni, former vice minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, told reporters via video link that the most concerned issue of the Communist Party of China and generations of Chinese leaders is how to meet the needs of the vast number of Chinese people to continuously improve their living standards. As we all know, China participated in the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and signed and adopted a series of other international human rights-related agreements, and China is also strictly abiding by the norms of human rights-related agreements, especially protecting the right to economic and social development of Chinese people.

Ali Shivni believes that no one has the right to act as China's "teacher", to educate China on how to maintain peace and stability in the region, and all related attempts to act as a "teacher" are aimed at putting pressure on China, and such acts are doomed to failure. There are also some countries that attempt to smear China's image, damage China's credibility, and undermine China's peace, stability, and security. Because these will not only affect the interests of all Chinese people, but also affect foreign entities and individuals.

Hiroshi Onishi, a professor at Keio University in Japan, personally traveled to Xinjiang to study the development of Ethnic Minorities in China. He has conducted 11 surveys of Xinjiang, many Uighur students, and written a book called "The Development of China's Ethnic Minorities and the Economic Gap." In response to the "forced labor" problem advocated by the Western media, Hiroshi Onishi pointed out that those are all falsely forged, and the propaganda of the Western media will only aggravate ethnic estrangement and have a negative impact.

At the press conference, Alimu Shatar, an associate professor at the Law School of Xinjiang University, said that the so-called "Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Law" treats Uighurs as "forced laborers", which is completely fabricated. The Chinese Constitution clearly stipulates that citizens of the People's Republic of China have the right and obligation to work. People of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, including Uighurs, are citizens protected by law and have nothing to do with what Americans call "forced labor," nor does Xinjiang have any problem of "forced labor." The US legislation is purely a bad act of stealing concepts and taking meanings out of context.

On the same day, Yilijiang Anaiti, spokesman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People's Government; Jiao Yang, member of the China Society of International Law and associate professor of the Department of International Law of the China Foreign Affairs University; Wang Yiwei, professor of the School of International Relations of Chinese University; Xie Guiping, professor of Zhejiang University; Yu Fengchun, professor of Zhejiang Normal University; and Zhang Jianjiang, professor of the Law School of Xinjiang University, also attended the press conference and explained their views.
