In Zhongnan Village 20 years ago, the economy was weak, and the people's lives were poor. Since 2001, under the leadership of Chen Jinshi, secretary of the village party committee and chairman of the board of directors of Zhongnan Group, the village party committee has adhered to Mr. Zhang Xiao's idea of "father education, mother industry", and through the joint construction of village enterprises, it has realized that villagers have villas, leisure to parks, go out to drive cars, have a salary, and have embarked on a road of rural revitalization and village urbanization with the characteristics of Zhongnan Village. In the past year, the collective income of Zhongnan Village reached 1.54 million yuan, the per capita disposable income of villagers was 55,000 yuan, far exceeding the average level of rural Nantong, and the Party Committee of Zhongnan Village won the title of "National Advanced Grassroots Party Organization".

Ninety percent of the villagers live in large villas

Walking into the 3-storey villa of villager Lu Hongxin's home, I saw flowers and grass on both sides of the house, melons, fruits and vegetables planted in front of the house, a storage room built according to rural customs behind the house, and a car parking garage on the ground floor. "Since staying in the villa, our days have gotten better and better." Lu Hongxin said that the roadside is green, and street lamps have been installed, and at night, the street lamps that are brushed together are lit up, and people walking in groups.
Chen Jinshi, a native of Zhongnan Village, went out with a construction team in 1988 and founded the Zhongnan Group, which is now one of the top 500 private enterprises in China. Chen Jinshi, who has successfully started a business, does not forget to feed his hometown. In 1998, he moved the headquarters of Zhongnan Group from Qingdao back to his hometown and revitalized the village. In 2001, after he became the head of the party organization in Zhongnan Village, he put forward the slogan "One person is not rich, everyone is really rich".
Only by living in peace can we be happy. After Chen Jinshi took office, he quickly implemented the "Happy Housing Project". He led a group of people from the village party committee to propose high-standard planning and construction of peasant settlements, and the Zhongnan Group built a unified style of villas, replacing the villagers' old houses, and the difference only needed to pay a cost price of 1500 yuan per square meter. For villagers in difficulty, there is no cost fee. At present, 90% of the villagers in the village live in the villa area.
With the completion of the villa area, the water and electricity pipe network and other facilities are also in place, the main road is 9 meters wide, and the two sides are 3 meters wide green belt, and the greening rate of the concentrated residential area is 40%. In addition, the main and secondary roads in the village are all hardened and brightened, and the ditches and rivers are all rectified and dredged, and the river slopes are greened. Basically achieve the goals of "villagers' settlement, clean ditches and rivers, hard roads, environmental ecology, and rural urbanization". In 2019, Zhongnan Village was named one of the first batch of forest villages in the country, and in November 2021, it was promoted as a beautiful leisure village in China.
The collective income of the village reached 1.54 million yuan
The villas that have sprung up from the ground have improved the living environment of the villagers. However, in the view of the Party Committee of Zhongnan Village, living in a villa has only changed the "face", and only when the village collective economy has developed and grown, can the villagers' lives be truly better.
There are 1,039 people in 453 households in Zhongnan Village, and the per capita arable land area is only 0.36 mu. In view of the contradiction of "small peasants" with a large number of people and a small amount of land in the village, the party committee of Zhongnan Village held that it is not possible to completely rely on agriculture to make a fortune, and it is necessary to develop diversified industries, and through attracting enterprises, using enterprises to lead the village, and strengthen the village collective economy.
Since 2004, Zhongnan Group has built a Zhongnan Industrial Base, gradually moving from a single civil construction to building installation, decoration and decoration and other construction industry chain business. Relying on this leading industry, the Party Committee of Zhongnan Village has successively introduced 6 industrial enterprises such as Fengxiang Casting and Hongjin Clothing, as well as Baikafu Food, a provincial key leading enterprise of agricultural industrialization in Jiangsu Province. These enterprises generate taxable sales of about 300 million yuan per year, and the annual net increase in the collective economic income of the village is more than 600,000 yuan. In 2019, Zhongnan Group invested 11 million yuan to integrate more than 180 mu of land in the village, build efficient conjoined greenhouses, develop facility agriculture, belong to the village collective land, and also have a land income of more than 1,000 yuan per mu.
With the enterprise leading the village, the collective economy of Zhongnan Village has continued to grow, and the village's operating income exceeded one million yuan for the first time in 2020, and reached 1.54 million yuan in 2021.
After the village income increased, the village party committee actively fed back the people's livelihood construction and tried to add high-quality living facilities to the villagers. In recent years, gateball courts, basketball courts and other leisure and exercise places are in place, and in 2020, 35,000 square meters of 35,000 square meters have been built on the east side of the villa area, integrating leisure and entertainment, ecological activities, forest oxygen bars and other villagers' parks, which has become a good place for villagers to meet daily leisure friends. The per capita income of the villagers increased by 11 times
With the development and growth of the village collective economy, the "money bags" of the villagers in Zhongnan Village have become more and more drummed.
Through the attraction of enterprises, nearly 10 enterprises in the fields of industry and agriculture have settled in Zhongnan Village. The Party Committee of Zhongnan Village, through the joint construction of village enterprises, ensures that villagers in the village who have the ability to work and have the intention of employment can go there to work. At present, these enterprises have absorbed more than 200 villagers for employment, accounting for half of the total number of villagers in the employment age group.
Zhao Weiping, of Group 2, was laid off from the store more than ten years ago and returned to the village to work for Zhongnan Group. Over the years, he was promoted from ordinary worker to warehouse manager, and his salary climbed all the way. Today, he also helped his daughter's family buy a house in Haimen City.
Zhongnan Group invested in the construction of efficient conjoined greenhouses, 110 acres were donated to more than 70 villagers for planting. Because as early as 2018, Zhongnan Village took the lead in becoming the "first village of share reform" in Nantong, and the villagers can share in the land, so these more than 70 villagers can not only get more than 1,000 yuan per mu of land rent, but also get planting income.
Huang Yaoxiang, a villager in 4 groups, got nearly 3 acres of land to grow vegetables in greenhouses, including land rent, with an annual income of 70,000 to 80,000 yuan. "Originally planting open-air grain, the annual income of 10 acres of land was less than 8,000 yuan, and now there are conjoined greenhouses, and the income has increased by 10 times!" Huang Yaoxiang said.
The joint construction of village enterprises has enabled the villagers in Zhongnan Village to achieve employment and entrepreneurship at their doorstep, and has also turned their single economic income into a variety of income channels of "wage income + efficient agricultural income + land rent". In 2021, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in the village was 55,000 yuan, more than 11 times that of 2001.
