It is rumored that he had an IQ of 133, was a highly intelligent criminal, born in Washington in 1926, and his parents died. He spent his childhood in a foster family and was arrested for his first crime at the age of 13.
He was then convicted of crimes ranging from drug possession to armed robbery. Until 1960, he was caught again during burglary, and he was imprisoned many times without repentance, and this time he also mentioned a ticket to Alcatraz Island.
There was also a pair of brothers among the four, John Angel and Clarence. The Anglin brothers were born into a peasant family with 13 children.
After an organized bank robbery, they were captured and held in a Georgian prison serving their sentences. But in prison, the two brothers were also not honest, and tried to escape from prison many times, although they did not succeed.
But don't you two brothers want to break out of jail? Go to Alcatraz Island. Seeing how you run, they also mentioned the ticket to Alcatraz Prison. I don't know the police who sent them to Alcatraz Island, and later I learned that the two brothers actually escaped from prison.
There was also a criminal named Alan Clayton, who was a standard dangerous person relative to the previous three. A professional offender, he was arrested in 1955 and sentenced to life in Florida.
He tried the same methods to escape the prison, but did not succeed. In 1957, he was sent to Alcatraz Island, and in this way, the four kings gathered together to prepare to escape from prison.
First of all, the highly intelligent Morris found that there was a vent in their room that was 20 centimeters long and ten centimeters high, and the strength of the wall did not seem to be high, and there was a possibility of drilling out of it.
This vent, which was resized after the federal prison supervision in 1934, was made larger in size. Later, it was smeared with cement.
However, this area was not reinforced with steel reinforcement, and for a long time, by about 1960, the reinforcement place was loosened, and it was obvious that it was a trace of post-erasing.
In September 1961, Morris and three accomplices set to work, collecting tools to punch holes in the walls. At first, they just collected all kinds of metal pieces and made all kinds of small blades.
Later, I even picked up a scale and made a wrench. The Agrind brothers also brought a vacuum cleaner, which they dismantled and converted from the motor inside into a simple electric drill.
However, because the electric drill is louder, they chose only one hour of free entertainment time every day. The Agrin brothers alternately played the accordion while the others drilled the holes.
Because at this time, many people in the cell will play musical instruments, sing songs, and be noisy. The vigilance of the guards is also relatively weak.
They also made a key out of a stolen spoon, and the key ruler on it was carried by the observation guard. After recording it and copying it, in order not to be found abnormal by the guards, they made a vent camouflage device.
The area where the hole was punctured was camouflaged with cement color and white wall painted wooden planks in order to buy more time when escaping. They collected a large number of books and toilet paper, and then used colored soap to paste the paper into the shape of a human head.
Since one of the Anglin brothers worked in the barbershop in prison, he had a lot of hair from the barbershop.
Then all these hairs were pasted on the head and eyebrows of the finger, so that in the dim light of the prison, the inspectors were basically impossible to detect.
In addition to this, they made a periscope to observe the guards' every move, and they found a book of popular science published in November 1960 inside the prison.
According to the method described in the book, they made a life raft from more than 50 raincoats from Shunlai, and made two oars with an accordion, as well as a life jacket.
Even the punch valves on life jackets were made, after nine months of meticulous preparation and planning. On June 11, 1962, the opportunity came.
The four men finally began to act, and they took the dolls that had been prepared long ago. Put it on the bed and stuff it with all sorts of things in the quilt to fill it, pretending to be someone sleeping.
Then open the vent that had been dug beforehand, and several people met at the vent to meet, at this time, Alan fell behind, because the vent he dug was not large enough.
Resulting in the need for temporary expansion, but there are no tools in hand, so the progress is very slow. The other three couldn't wait, it was their only chance.
So they dropped Alan and pushed open the lid as the three of them climbed to the vent. Only to hear a loud bang, the lid fell to the roof, and all three people were frightened.
It may be that there is no record of successful escape from the prison, and there is no follow-up abnormal noise, so this noise did not alarm the guards.
After the three climbed to the roof and left a small life-saving harvest for Alan, they dragged the larger inflatable life-saving harvest to the vicinity of the power plant in the northeast of the coast.
There was the blind spot of the searchlight, and then the life raft was dropped, and the three of them disappeared without a trace in the night market.
When Alan struggled to climb out of the vent, he found that the other three were gone, and since the night was too dark, he did not find the dinghy they had left behind.
Although he said that he was very reluctant, but in desperation, Alan returned to his room. When the prison guards on duty that night came to check the room according to the custom, they called out the names of the three people several times, but no one answered.
But seeing the people lying on the bed, the guards thought they might be asleep, so they went back not long after. The next morning, before the three of them had gotten up, the guards checked and found that the three had escaped.
Then the alarm bells rang out, and the largest search in history began, with prison guards searching every place along the coastline of Alcatraz Island and a nearby island called Angel Island.
But nothing was found, and after a whole day, the authorities still had no clues, no boats, no people, nothing. The prison guards began interrogating Alan, but he only confessed some of the things that the police had.
It wasn't until two days later, under continuous interrogation by the FBI, that Allen couldn't resist and dragged out their escape plan.
Next, a larger search began, involving various military and law enforcement agencies, and four days later, the police found the oars.
Ten days later, the police found fragments of raincoats, life jackets that had been deflated, but then found nothing. They escaped successfully.
The day after his escape, a law firm received a phone call: Do you know who John Aglin is? Have you read a newspaper? I was, and then I hung up the phone.
In 1979, after 17 years of searching, the police did not get any new clues, and the authorities also believed that they could not survive at sea with such a simple kayak, so the case was closed with all three people drowning.
A 2006 TV show called Message Terminator used the case as the subject. They found rubber raincoats of the same material and made inflatable cuts in the same way.
Then at night from Alcatraz Island to the sea, along the ocean current once drifted to the vicinity of the Golden Gate Bridge, on the shore, although the middle of the journey almost overturned the ship, but still barely reached the shore. It proves that the three people really have the possibility of successful jailbreak.
In 2012, the sisters of the two brothers published postcards sent by the two brothers to their mothers in the media, and the police did not accept them because the time could not be judged.

In 1963, a year after the three escapes, Alcatraz Prison, which held 1,500 prisoners, was too expensive to operate.
