Recently, a newborn baby girl in Russia was abandoned in a minus 20 degree environment in Siberia, but fortunately she was found by five teenagers, one of whomse parents took the baby to the hospital. After emergency treatment by doctors, the baby is currently in good condition. Although the couple who sent the baby girl to the hospital wanted to adopt her, they had to wait until the police could find the baby's relatives.

The newborn was found on January 7 in an egg box on a remote road near the village of Sosnovka on the outskirts of Novosibirsk, according to the BBC on Jan. 12. Local officials said the temperature was as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.

Dmitry Litvinov, the father of one of the teenagers, Said in an interview with Russian media outlet NGS that the five teenagers were friends and that they went out for a walk on Orthodox Christmas Day.
"It was already dark and they turned on the phone flash to see what was in the box." Litvinov said they found a baby girl inside, with a rag-like blanket and a bottle.
Litvinov said he and his wife Anna were subsequently called to the scene by their son, Reinate. They drove the baby to the local hospital. The baby girl was found about three days old, and they feared the baby might have frostbite and could not survive.
After arriving at the hospital, a doctor quickly examined the baby and gently rubbed her arms and legs to keep her warm, according to a statement from the local health ministry. The baby girl gradually regained her rosy face and was in good health, and was later transferred to a children's hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.
Litvinov's wife Anna told NGS that she and many hospital staff cried when they heard that the child was in good health.

The couple, who already have three sons, want to adopt the baby girl, but they must wait to see if the local police can find the child's relatives. NGS reported that if a loved one of the baby girl cannot be found, they must collect documents and attend special courses to be allowed to adopt the baby girl.
The local police are looking for the baby's birth mother and have opened a case for the abandonment of the baby girl.
